It's the end of another action packed day. I spent the bulk of my time at the Picante Palace, where I could barely remember my name. Apparently the same brain cell that I use to remember whether you ordered chicken or steak was doing double duty thinking about painting and pasting mandala plaques when I got home. Business was steady and I got finished late. My favorite part of the day was somewhere around 2pm. I had not been able to stop long enough to take any sort of break because I had constant business. I had one table sit all the way in the back of my cantina at the exact same time that I got two new tables up front. Then a couple sat at my bar and two orders of food came up at the same time. I took out the food (one to the back-one to the front) and the one in the front took a bite and it was "too spicy" (HELLO-It's Mexican Food!! already numbed for Americans!) I took it back-checked my other table and they ordered the most labor intensive drink on the menu-the (dreaded) MOJITO!!! It took a few moments to take care of all of the requests made of me and when I dropped off the Mojitos I apologized for the wait. The guys were really nice, and were seated where they could not see that I was working the entire 25 table section, plus the bar, expediting my own food, busing my own tables, and making drinks for the servers in the restaurant. That is why I didn't POP HIM ONE when I said "these were a little time consuming to create!" and he replied "GOOD THING YOU'RE NOT BUSY!!!" AAAAAAARGHHHHHHHH!!!
When I got home I put a lot of effort into researching techniques for decorating the plaques I got to put the zodiac mandalas on for Sat. Mkt. Let's just say-it was way more labor intensive than making a Mojito~but also far more rewarding when I came up with a do~able solution!! Now I just have to do it about 23 more times and I will have enough to unveil them in my booth this Saturday! (There is a Joe Jackson song that just came on XRT-the one that goes "you can't get what you want-till you know what you want..." -PRETTY MUCH!!!) That's gonna be my focus for this week!!! I may never get the paint out from under my nails! (OMG!)
P>S> there is no such thing as OVERTIPPING!
