Time Out of Mind
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Brass In Pocket-The Pretenders
Topic: BZZZZZZZT!!!
Before we get into the nitty gritty of the study duty, I have an exciting new professional development! I have been included in Clare Goodwin's Mandala Page, which is described as "an exploration of the mandala as a tool for growth and the discovery of the self. It includes an extensive guide to mandala resources in print and on the world wide web."!!! It is a fantastic resource for mandala artists, and I am honored to have been included!-Check it out! I am listed under contemporary mandala artists (alphabetically-under Crisanti)Enjoy! There are so many great artists out there! -Claire Goodwin's Mandala Page p.s. my bestest friend is on there too---She's Gina De Francesco!
Meanwhile things are just Ducky at the U of O. I had a dream last night where I was factoring equations, which is something I have been struggling with in the waking hours. Hopefully it is my higher self waking up the hamster...
I also dreamt that I was asked to work a shift at a restaurant, to help them out on a really busy day---which is an examination of having been asked to be the "service bartender" for the "Buncha-Bull"-on the infamous "Cuervo De Mayo-Drunkfest". I passed in the dream AND in real life as well. Sorry to the Hombre's De La Casa... (I might make some cash, but I would lose a piece of my soul! Besides it is on Friday and I have school and then Saturday Market the next day-what is more important?-hmmmm!) In the dream it was the person who asked me in real life, but it was the restaurant I put myself through college on the first time...almost 20 years ago! There were people from both places, and there I was getting ready to pick up a shift-BUT THEN-lo and behold-I STOPPED MYSELF-I took off the uniform, and told them I was sorry, but I just couldn't do it! I got in the car with Babboo and T-Bone and left the Restaurant one dish short of a full course...and drove off into the sunset to fulfill my DESTINY!!!
There is hope for me yet!
Thought for the day: Would you like "papas" with that?

Palm Sunday
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Patty Cake
Topic: Day of Rest
It is the end of a long weekend. I have been so intensely productive this week, that I think that I somehow must have created an extra 24 hours within the framework of it in order to accomplish all that I got done-YAY!!!
Market was a little wet yesterday, we got downpoured on for about the last hour and a half, but the rest of the day was pretty reasonable for Spring in the Pacific Northwest. I did some really sweet hairwraps, and made a couple of nice additions to the booth that seemed to work out in my favor. I am still waiting for my cards from the print shop, and I am trying to fit a visit to my advisor at the micro-business center into a very full Monday or Tuesday-SIGH.
I have been having a lot of vivid dreams the last couple of nights, and this morning there was one that stuck with me. I was in a lecture hall, there were a few people, no desks or anything but a podium and chalkboards and stuff. I kept noticing the time, one of those big clocks that all schools have. In the lower right hand corner of the room there was a sheep, and when I went to it, I saw that it had two lambs. I sat down next to it and started petting them, and picked one up and had it in my lap. I was holding it, and petting it the way that I do my dog, and I felt this overwhelming love for it. It was so clear, that I swear I could feel it's soft fur, and it's warmth. When I woke up I kept thinking it was the "Lamb of God". I looked in my dream book, and it basically said the same thing. I am apparently feeling the love for the Christ consciousness-how appropriate for Palm Sunday-huh! (Think someone is trying to tell me something?) I hope I can be ready to accept the love back!
On that note, I am realizing that I have a couple of things to read for tomorrow's Global Feminism class, and I know that my teacher is not going to go easy on us, so I'd better get to bed...
Thought for the day: Feel the Love!!!

Topic: 9 More Weeks
Well Darlings, The planet Saturn went direct on the 5th and that means the tasks that you have been putting off for the last few months while it was retrograde are going to get a burst of fresh energy. The next couple of weeks will be ramping up for getting our to-do lists to-done. Saturn is gliding through Leo which has a way of focusing on the self, and helps to lighten up the "Old Man" of the Zodiac (Saturn is Father Time).
For me, the responsibilities are obvious (and MANY!). I made it through the first week of classes, and can't believe the incredible amount of things I accomplished within the framework of my schedule! I managed to find a math that is less of a challenge than 111 was going to be-let's face it, why struggle with a class that has little or no bearing on my future, when a 107 completes the courses I have already had (105,106!). I was trying to add it in the first place, but there were no open sections. Thankfully someone dropped it, and I was persistent (desperate!) enough to keep checking the "DUCKWEB"!
I have noticed three repeating themes this week:
1. Scotland
2. Eating Clay
3. 7's
I have no idea why these things have been coming up ALL OVER my week, but it was enough to trigger the pattern center in my brain. Guess I'll ask the Dream Police if they have any leads on this case-
Thought for the night: You don't have to try the hardest to succeed, you just have to keep trying until you do!
Nitey-Night!

Topic: Factoring
OH, Hey-thought I forgot about you? Not so! I have just filled up my last few days with SO MUCH NEW INFORMATION, I can hardly see straight!
I have 4 classes
1. Geology 103: The Evolving Earth-"Plant's and Bird's Fossils in Rock's and Things."
2. Feminist Global Studies: "Burka Busters"
3. Math 111: College Algebra: "The ABC's of 123's."
4. Figurative Ceramics: "Making Faces"
I have a pretty functional schedule, and I don't have to work a "REAL JOB", and the first week out of ten is 1/2 over. (One divided by 2 is not even close to 10!)-[practicing my factoring and stuff]. Geology is going to be a breeze, Figurative Ceramics is my reason for being here in the first place. I have been conducting Women's Studies all of my life (but not like a man does...)it's going to involve a few papers and some essay questions, but I think I can probably get by. Then there is MATH-WOW! I am challenged by not only the class, but the graphing calculator that didn't even exist in schools when I was taking this level of math last..! YIKES-Thankfully, for now, it's the same math Thing One is learning in High School, and we can do our homework together (at least for now-while we are in "review") I keep telling myself that I am going to feel SO GOOD when my Math Hamster Wheel in my brain gets back up to full speed. I'll keep feeding her info until she is up and running...What's that squeaking noise?
Forgive me if I'm a little more absent from BLOG Duty for a little while...don't worry-once I get the kind of "super-loopy" that studying this kind of math for a little while makes me, this will be more fun to read than EVER!!!

QUINCE-idence

You know-for all of you out there that have been reading this for a while and say she's making that up"-here's another edition of Cosmic Commedian humor to add to your list...(Y-FILES!)
I have a long list of reasons why April Fools Day is special to me-
First, it would be about the time I was concieved (do the math-9 mos. to Dec 31-give or take).
My best friend's daughter was born that day, one of my fellow Michelles has her birthday then. There is that whole thing about meeting Mr.(W)right Good Fool's Friday, and then there is my Fuggling Jool...My sister met the man she married on April Fool's Day, and they decided to marry that day 7 years later...(If they want a divorce do they just have to say "April Fools"?)-You get the picture.
Well, it happens to be Thing 2's girlfriend's birthday as well, and their "anniversary". Last night her parents dropped them off at a fancy restaurant and bought them dinner. Then they came over here. As Thing 2 was getting ready he was wishing he had gotten some flowers for her. I thought that maybe we had some in the yard, being spring and all so I went outside, but the only thing flowering was our Quince. It would have made a beautiful bouquet---last week. At this point there are as many dead blossoms as live-sigh...no flowers for Alex.
This morning when I woke up, I noticed out my bedroom window, that the Quince had a mylar balloon tangled in the top of it, from a place unknown! We live right behind a popular trendy restaurant, it is possible that it made it's way over, or from a neighbor's yard...but the funny thing was that the balloon said "Happy Birthday"...so I showed it to Alex, and told her that it was her Cosmic Birthday Bouquet-manifested especially for her! (Thanks Cosmic Commedians-we do believe in Faeries!)
This was TRULY a QUINCE-idence!
This is why I MUST BE CAREFUL WHAT I WISH FOR-
That goes for you too...Now what will it be this time!!!:)

And a fine April Fool's Day to you!!!
I thought about writing a whole thing about finding the one true religion and how I was going to be giving up hair, sex, and chocolate, and moving to a remote part of Montana to live in a adobe hut and dress in mud, for my April Fool's entry, but I pictured several outcomes...
1. You would know that it was April Fool's Day and you wouldn't think it was that funny.
2. You wouldn't be surprised/Put it past me.
3. You would think Montana was tame compared to
Eugene, Why Move?
4. You already think I live in a hut.

So, I decided that I would tell you the highlights of the opening day of Saturday Market instead...
1. I actually got my booth stuff together and ready to head out the door last night, and still managed to get 5 whole hours of sleep!
2. No rain during set-up!!!
3. Set up in plenty of time!
4. Booth space is in a SWEET spot!!! (Right by the big Fountain! Not to be confused with the Roger Fountain!)
5. Mrs. Random brought me brownies! (NOT THAT KIND!)
6. My next door neighbor is the woman who sells "Portable Saints".
7. Four of the other six neighbors sell pottery! (One of the reasons I don't!)
8. It only rained sporadically throughout the day-without messing with my booth stuff.
9. Market Food.
10. No rain during takedown! (Miracles DO happen!)

The first few markets are more social than business. It seems like the sales are dependent on the sunshine, but it felt good to get out there and start the season. Market has a unique flavor that celebrates creativity and diversity in the community. You see all colors of skin, hair, and clothing. One of my favorite sites today was a large lesbian woman in a white t-shirt that read "The Chick Whisperer". It was a great feeling when one of the vendors that I was near last season, a couple who make glass pendants and things, came up and told me that they were starting the Microbusiness Program-Thanks to ME!!!

BLOG # 300!!!
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Major Thom-David Bowie
Topic: 3-2-1 Liftoff
This is my 300th Blog Entry. WOO-HOO-If this was a home run, I'd be on the news! (or is that 3000-I Dunno?) My big news for the day is that I heard from the Credit Union, and my Business Plan (that you all so patiently waited for me to stop whining about...) has been officially APPROVED, and my grant funds are RELEASED-which is a good thing because according to the Minuteman Press, they are officially largely SPENT!!! OY!
Wednesday and Thursday appear to have been eclipsed by the Eclipse. I tried to post yesterday, but the Tripod Gnomes would have none of it...My post was TOAST! It was the first total eclipse in about 2 1/2 years, and it cut a wide swath across the globe, highlighting areas from Brazil in South America, to West Africa, Central Asia and finally Mongolia. I think about the hope that I feel, that the Aries Energy of this eclipse will highlight for the world the spirit of New Direction (Aries/Mars=God of War and Leadership). Like when the school children put on their "Eclipse Glasses" I hope that they were able to have a few minutes to contemplate the wonder of it all! Maybe it can make an impression on their psyches that we are all a part of the same universe, and if we allow ourselves to succomb to our "Shadow Selves", we will blot out our "Inner Sun"!!! I am simply not ready for that to happen...Be NICE to Your S'elf, Light Your Inner Fire! (Third Chakra-Solar Plexus-BrightYellow!)
Thought for the day: What does your shadow know? (and why is that so frightening?)

Solar Eclipse
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Black Hole Sun-Soundgarden
Topic: Not Paper Clips
In the wee hours of the morning, about the time the donut man gets up, there will be a solar eclipse in Aries. The new moon is also in aries, and this fiery combo will light the way for us to take the bull and run with it! Be careful not to get trampled!
I personally will do my best to keep from running BACK to the "Casa Del Bull's Booty" and selling my soul back to the Diablo. (For those of you just joining the program already in session, I am a recovering Bartender/Shift Co-Ordinator) I have been restaurant free for 58 days, however I did stop by the old haunt so sit on the PATRON side of the Corian Counter, and have a Margarita with a former "regular guest" of my Tuesday day shift. I ended up staying longer than expected as a parade of people who I used to have to make drinks for, sat down and shared some counter space with me.
It's a whole other perspective, and I am getting used to it!
The solar eclipse's influence has been felt in the weeks leading up to it, as it will be felt on the waning side of it. Think back and contemplate the things that have been in the forefront of your attention in the last couple of weeks. What seeds do you want to germinate this season? We planted seeds and have been nurturing them, tending to them. Now it is time to thin them out. Spend 10 minutes concentrating on your breath, and then breathe the life into your Body&Mind&Spirit-and all things are possible. Pick and choose the healthiest thought forms, and bring them into your reality.
Fortune: You have a quick mind, and a good memory. (in bed).

Topic: Bowl Me Over
Good Morning from the land of the Setting Sun. I think I like it here, because it is two hours behind where I was born, so it feels like I am sleeping in even when it is "early" here.
This morning I find myself alone in the house, Babboo is skiing (cross-country) with River Tom, Wild Bill, and Pupperonius (who is apparenly part Snowshoe Rabbit). Thing One went to Sun River to snowboard at Mt. Bachelor with his Honey and her mom and lil' sis, and Thing Two is at a "LAN Party" with a bunch of his fellow "not emo" kids. For the uninitiated "LAN Party" means they bring their home computers and hook them together to play games with each other in the same room. Seems like a lot of extra trouble to me! Watching one of the dads lug their pc out of the mini-van, I had a sense that maybe there ARE parents out there who cater to their children's whims even more than I!!!
I find myself in a really dreamy state, and want to just mind wander. I have NIA class today, and I know that will get the chi flowing, until then I think I will just coast. I have so many things to think about right now that I feel all ADHD, and scramble-brained and can't get into one little task. This is the kind of day where I make a little progress on a lot of tasks-mostly putter oriented-and if I am lucky there will be a dresser top and a dining room table visible by the end of the day. The real test of my skill will be if I can manage to get the downstairs sucked free of as much dog hair as possible before "Bunny-Butt" gets back from the slopes. Right now I think I will declutter my aura with a nice long, hot shower...
