Hello my Starchildren! I would first like to share with you that soon after my final final yesterday I went downtown to several shops who I thought might be willing to retail my cards and got contact information. (NO wasted time here!) Today I had a meeting with two of them. One, who owns a small shop, said to try back next month because he was going out of town and wasn't buying anything at this moment...but he would...The other, a husband and wife team, who I realized I had met at a party at my old roommate's (a fellow Michelle![mich-ellow?]-pardon the association-at least it's free!) ANYWAY---I met them several years ago, (in Eugene there are only about 2 degrees of separation) and they BOUGHT 5 SETS WITHOUT BLINKING AN EYE!!! WOOHOO! I hope I did not look too surprised, since I am trying to act all professional and all, but---I did not expect them to buy 5! So on that note, I would like to plug LETTER HEAD on 8th ave. in Eugene, as folks with really great taste...(it really is a sweet boutique, and I am proud to have my work represented there!) Astrologically, it looks like we need to rest and recreate with friends and family Saturday to get ready for a powerful and challenging week ahead! This week, Jupiter in Scorpio is squaring Saturn in Leo. This is a very strong aspect, and Vesta and Mars thrown in the mix are really messing with the bottom line! Is it time to buckle down? Have you been creating the abundance that you want in your life? Are there things you would change if you could? YOU CAN! It might just not be overnight...unless you see it from the Universe's perspective, that it is all happening in the blink of an eye!!! Today I got a message from my bestest gal pal ever, and it was about perspective, rich vs poor,where a rich,city-dwelling,father takes his son to a farm to see "how the other half lives", and the son sees the farmers as the rich ones "we have one dog, they have four, we have a pool into the middle of our yard, they have an endless stream..." etc...It IS how you view things that makes you feel rich or poor. Coincidently(...LOL-or is it...) I came across this passage from the Tao Te Ching today as well... Chapter 11...when Doris gets her oats...(oh, wrong one)...try this: We put thirty spokes together and call it a wheel, But it is the space where there is nothing that the utility of the wheel depends. We turn clay to make a vessel, But it is on the space where there is nothing that the utility of the vessel depends. We pierce doors and windows to make a house, And it is on these spaces where there is nothing that the utility of the house depends. Therefore, just as we take advantage of what is, We should recognize the utility of what is not. Lao Tse What more could I say...Think on that till next time!

FINALLY FINAL!!!

I'M FINALLY DONE!!! After a ridiculous amount of time trying time and time again to attain what should be a 4 (or 5) year degree, I have completed the requirements for a Bachelor of Science in Art with a concentration in ceramics! I can't tell you why it took so long, there are MANY, MANY factors, mostly financial, and red tape in nature. I also have a knack for doing things the roundabout way, and have so many things going at any given time that it is hard to concentrate on one thing until it is finished (Lot's of stuff in Sagittarius). Add to that a birthchart with a ridiculous amount of squares (like 14 or so) and it would seem that I have a lot to overcome. This is no longer one of them. It doesn't really matter to my art that I didn't have an official piece of paper saying that I was an artist. Most of my artistic training did NOT come from college-it came from the place between, but I was so close to a degree for so long that it was almost embarrassing that I didn't have one. BUT NOW I DO!!! I'm going to take a celebratory NAP!! See you later!!! WOOOOOHOOOO!

Sagittarius Full Moon Fever

I have wanted to make note of the Sagittarius Full Moon for days now. It was yesterday, and in it's typical Sagittarian way, it has been all about LEARNING! This full moon was stationed at 21 degrees Sag (and for me it is conjunct, or in the same spot as my natal moon placement!) The Sabian sign for it is "A child and a dog wearing sunglasses." This moon calls for fun and fantasy in creating our everyday reality. (I wouldn't know anything about that...especially right now!) My own pupster is waiting for mama to have fun again. He keeps coming up and dropping the ball into my bookbag while I am trying to study (which this week is CONSTANTLY!!!) knowing that I will immediately retrieve it, and when I take longer than a moment to do so, he gives me the puppy dog eyes, and the sad puppy whimper to let me know that I am working too hard...only for a COUPLE MORE DAYS!!! Yesterday, I was priveleged enough to be able to spend the entire morning from sun-up till noon firing the anagama wood kiln at the UofO, and then go to NIA where my instructor led us through an entire routine about the moon. It was magical. I will talk more about the kiln in a day or two, but I've got to get my rest so I can crank out a couple more pages of essay, a bibliography, and still have time to retrieve some calculus files that I seem to have stored under a pile of random akashic records (or were they arista records...I'll keep looking...) Hope you have time to utilize the energy of this full moon and drift away into a fantasy, if only for a moment or two...my fantasy is that the answers to my calc final will be magically channeled through me and I will maintain the A that I have worked so hard for without even batting an eye!!! (that goes for Geology too!) Graduation-HERE I COME!!!

Hello again-safely on the other side of 06-06-06, and lovin it. Ideally,You should have been alerted to the fact that 6 is the vibration of Venus-the goddess and planet of love and beauty, and that I prefer to think of yesterday as the PORTAL for her vibration to shine her loving violet ray upon us all, but I was caught up in an eddy in the stream of consciousness,so... Soak it up kiddeos-love only gets stronger as we draw it to and through us! Today the planet Venus is in a harmonus Trine with the SUN-"reflecting the love that you shine on me..." AHHHH...feel the love. ALSO,in my end of the term frantic antics, I realized that I FAILED to mention a VERY significant occurance that happened SUNDAY JUNE 4!!! My friends Brian and Kelly safely and effectively brought forth their son HUNTER JACKSON FEGLES-GOLLY!!! Born at 8:46pm PDT-he was 19" and 7lbs10oz. I went to see them on Monday and give them a Reiki treatment. Mom and Dad and Son are doing well. He is beautiful, and already living up to his name-has a Sagitarrius (the Hunter!) Rising. Looking at his chart, I see a lot of FIRE!!! He's gonna be a force to be reckoned with!!! (but aren't we all!!!) On a business note-this is important to EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER HAD A CREATIVE IDEA EVER...(this means YOU!!!) Our "Fearless Leaders" have introduced a bill (Senator from Texas of course...) called the Orphan Works Act of 2006 which, if passed, would have DEVASTATING effects on copyright laws. Basically anyone could use an image, song, performance, that they want if they conduct "a reasonable search to find the owner of said work" and don't find who did it. If they get caught using your work, you do not get royalties, you are merely paid "a reasonable fee." Let me tell you, it is difficult enough to be compensated for art as it is...this would be a HORRIBLE blow to all creative people. I had to put my two cents in today since it has long been a joke of mine that my last name is practically "Anti-Christ" backwards...(but not quite-so don't trip! Unless that's your gig...) Naturally everyone has made their jokes about the date, and a remake of "The Omen" was released today. How flippin' clever those Hollywood types are... Here in our little burg, one of the high schools was closed due to threats, but life went on pretty much as usual. I went to ceramics at the high school (it wasn't ours that was closed!) I wrote two pages of my first 5 page essay, I went to my ceramics critique, a Lacrosse meeting for Thing One, and picked up Thing Two at the card shop, came home to make dinner and WHAM!!! That's when it happened...I saw a note...with a name...a phone number...I ask myself "am I having a flashback?"...I know there is paper laying all over my office, but what ancient pile was this laying under? Wait, it's NEW! in the handwriting of Babboo..."What's this?" I ask. Babboo says, "Cosmic Charlie called!!!" and the memory banks sprung to life (good to know they are still working!) Babboo only knows OF Cosmic Charley, and has heard SOME of the stories, but is really only aware that "Cosmic Charley" is not the same as "Alien Al"-though both have the Grateful Dead and knowing me in common. For those of you who are just tuning in, and as a refresher for those of you who haven't heard me talk about Cosmic for a while (since I haven't talked to Cosmic in QUITE a while...) I met Cosmic because he was a friend of my Bestest GalPal in the world, GinaScorpina (check out her website Mandalakazzam on my Sweet Links page!) and let's just say she's a great friend for putting up with me on that "Vacation from NORMAL"!!! (Never had such a good time!) I have written about him before, most notably April 9th, 2005's post for his birthday where I had a FANTASTIC cosmic moment involving a CHARLIE Brown cartoon, where snoopy is looking up at the stars and thinking they are like friends and he says to one of them "Hi Michelle". I knew that it was not a coincidence that this was the cartoon that was chosen that day...it was more like an inside joke between two VERY OLD FRIENDS. I met Cosmic in this incarnation on the now infamous (to me...) Spring Grateful Dead tour of 1994. The one where I was hit so hard by the lighting bolt that it knocked me off my foundation! (which is no easy task when it comes to someone with a double grand earth trine like I have!) He is also a close friend of Mr. Wright (not to be confused with Mr. Right...who has an awful lot of people looking for him!)who I also may have mentioned in a blog or two... Cosmic is one of the people in my life that I know I have known since before time began...he is a part of my soul family, and part of the story...which continues to become more magical every day! Hey You-call someone you haven't talked to in a while...it might just make their day!

TGIFinally Almost the End of the Term!

Topic: One More Week!
One More Week of classes, Two 5 page essays, One Math Final, One Geology Final, a Ceramics critique and Potluck, and a Woodfiring between now and the 15th and I WILL BE DONE WITH SCHOOL!!! ("Is that all?" you might ask!) I can't believe it-but I can't let my guard down yet! I have A's in Math and Geology but need to ace the cumulative finals to keep my place. I got full credit on my last paper for Global Feminisms, but I am riding the line between A and B in that class too. The two 5 page essays are our final, and I am going to be in front of this machine for the entire week to be able to pull it off. We get the questions on Monday and have until the 14th to write them, but I have to have time to study for my other stuff before then too, not to mention run my business!!! It is going to feel so good to be done!!! On the business note, I got a new retail outlet yesterday at our local Market "New Frontier". It is a sweet little o.g. corner market that sells local foods, nice wines and microbrews, and supports local artists (like me!!!) I actually went in yesterday to get a cup of their yummy o.g. coffee to get me through glazing in ceramics, and came out with a sale of a set of my new zodiac cards. OH HAPPY ME! The cards are getting a really good response, and I am a PROUD MAMA. Tomorrow, the weather is looking like rain again for Saturday Market, but that is the name of the game here in the Pacific Northwest...why do you think we are the "UofO DUCKS". Good thing I have good tarps, and my friend the tree. Tonight the moon is in Virgo, which can make sleep fitful and restless as the responsibilities of the day weigh on the sleeping mind. This can be combatted by making a plan of action for your tasks before you go to sleep, then you won't lay there thinking about everything you have to do-you will already have it laid out. Then you will be free to dream about how to get it done!

Had a dream about walking out into the snow, and I saw a woman playing with some kids. She was in a traditional style outfit which I feel was South American in nature-it was a black dress with bright color embroidery. She had beaded necklaces and bracelets and they were beautiful. I notice she had a white shawl, and it had fringe, and it was bunched up on her back in a way that made me think that it looked like wings, and I thought to myself that she was a snow angel. When I awoke, I felt like she was Peruvian. This was reinforced in my first period Geology class when the prof put up slides of Peruvian Plateaus! Later in the dream realm, I was in a house, kind of like my Grandparent's one before the one they are in now, and I was with friends. There was this guy who asked me to go to a party with him, and I said that I didn't really want to go. I went on talking to my friends, and then a bit later, I looked out of the window to see him sitting on a bench in my back yard waiting for me. It was kind of cold and grey, and a little snowy, and I asked him why he was still there, and I realized that he really wanted me to be with him, and I felt this really intense feeling of warmth that he would wait for me like he did. He said that his name was Brian, but I wanted to call him Dan, and I realized that he was also my very own Babboo (all rolled into one!). I decided to go to the party with him, and we got into a vehicle and headed out on the highway (lookin' for adventure...lol). It was blizzard conditions, and I was worried that we shouldn't be going, but then I looked over and knew that I was safe, even though I looked at the road ahead and realized that we were traveling on top of the cars (or actually school buses!) that were stuck in the snow on the road. I saw snow plows below us too, but they were merely moving the snow around themselves, and it was all moving back into place behind them anyway. We were flying along at a pretty good clip. free from the conditions that held the others back. I remember watching the snow coming off of the plowblades and realizing that the ice crystals were HUGE! More than mere snowflakes. It was an amazing sight. WOW-it's amazing I had any attention span at all today with all of that night flight!!! Can't wait for more! So what about you? Anything fun to report? Blog on in!

Today is the last day of May. I heard a report which said that since we are dependent upon foreign oil for about 60% (or so) of our supply, today marks the last day of the year that we are using domestic oil. The rest of the year represents the amount of oil from outside sources, and the demand is growing. Meanwhile we are pissing off all of the people who are supplying it-brilliant! I personally feel that the higher prices are a wake up call. Perhaps because I am a child of the seventies when we had the "oil crisis" and lines for gas, I wonder why we haven't made more of an effort to find alternatives-wouldn't the oils companies still benefit? I don't want to think too hard about it, I know there is a lot to it, but watching Brazil become independent of foreign oil through Flex Fuel cars (made by OUR car companies-with technologies that do not cost more to make...hmmmm...) gives me hope that maybe we can pull our head out of the smog, and use our fantastic farm resources to their full potential. It only makes sense!!!
