AIR!!!
Mood:  hungry
Now Playing: Under Pressure-David Bowie/Queen
Topic: OMG!!!
Hi kids, I didn't forget about you, I have just been "filled to the gills" with little tasks that seem to take approximately 2.3 times longer than I expect they are going to, and am not able to squeeze little "extras" in (blog, daydreaming,...sleep).
This has been a really intense week due to my BFA application which involved rounding up old and new slides, an application, letter of intent, 2 letters of recommendation (one of which is still forthcoming...but going to be great-this is how you get paid for volunteering!) and presenting it in an attractive package. It was due Monday, but I got to slip a couple of extras in today. Thankfully Sana had some sympathy due to the fact that I didn't know about the deadline until last WEDS because of my "college hiatus"!!!
In addition, I had Math homework, a Math quiz, another Global Feminism response paper-about 50 pages of reading (same class) and a 3 page Geology paper, all due at various points between Tusday at 10am and today at 2! Did I mention that I spent 5 hours yesterday glazing a "head" to get fired today for a critique tomorrow? Yeah---I got my booty kicked!!!
The fun fact is that it is NOT because I put things off until the last minute at all! I have been really great about pacing myself. I have to say that this is probably the most intense term that I have ever taken, and THANK THE GREAT AMOEBA IT'S THE LAST before I get a WELL DESERVED DEGREE! (The BFA year is a whole different animal-NO MATH!!!)
I have to say, however I am still LOVING IT!!! I like being busy, and I am challenged in the most amazing ways. The classes are all very interesting (even math). The Women's Studies class is probably the most challenging, because I haven't ever really had to do this level of writing (Art History papers are way different). I can see how it is affecting things for me on a jillion levels! I have always considered myself pretty conversational, this is really making me think about how to get action from my words.
NOW GET BACK TO WORK!!! (and LIKE IT!!!)

Beltaine Eve
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Ring Around the Rosy
Topic: May Day!
Hi, Kids! Picture this:
"a thousand Barefoot children outside...
DANCIN'ON MY LAWN!!!
A couple of days ago my lawn was the lushest tuftiest (like a Bay City Roller...for those of us who were there!) greenest tender-underfootiest, mooshy-squooshy, green, green grass of home lawn. There were these little daisies all over it and of course some dandelions-rawwrrr....in a good way. Babboo had to use the weedwhacker to take it down, but for a little while we had quite the meadow. AHHHH..spring is sprung.
Tomorrow is Beltaine, or May Day. It is special because it falls right between the Spring Eqinox and the Summer Solstice. I found this little Mother Goose ditty and I think it will be my meditation for the week:
For every evil under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none.
If there be one, try and find it.
If there be none, never mind it.

(Seems like the least we can do!)

I am currently learning things about essential oils so that I can use them with my mandala workshops. I found a company that I really believe in, and I am really taking in a lot of information at this point. I know that using them in the meditations I do when I create the personalized mandalas, helps open my senses. I took some peppermint to NIA class with me, and put some on my back right over my kidneys. I feel like I really push my system sometimes, and I have NO TIME for adrenal fatigue-which I think everyone suffers from to one degree or another...peppermint oil is a great purifier, and I felt as if it cooled off my chi in that area. I have been drinking wolfberry juice (NINXIA RED-which we have nicknamed- "hippie red bull" but It doesn't have any of the Red-Bull&^%*#) and it is a powerful anti-oxidant, and has all kinds of good stuff in it for cleansing your liver and kidneys. Who couldn't use that! I have six more weeks of class left, so I need to be as good to my body as I can!
There is this Raindrop Technique using nine different oils from the feet to the top of the head that I am going to look into next. I cannot believe the amount of amazing things there are to learn!!! This truly is the school of life! Go learn something and report back to me!!!

New Moon Taurus
Mood:  rushed
Now Playing: Southern Cross-Crosby, Stills, and Nash
Topic: Fixed Grand Cross
First Order of Business-Happy Birthday to my dad!
Second-Happy Belated 21st (by a day) to my best gal pal's son Derek.
Third-I think I kicked booty on my math midterm!WOOHOO!
Fourth-Big New Moon in Taurus aspect today where the sun and moon are joined at 7 degrees, and opposing Jupiter (luck and expansion) and these square Saturn and Chiron creating a grand cross in fixed signs. This configuration is like taking a tire iron to a tough nut. Time to loosen up the nuts that are keeping us clinging to old patterns and dysfunctional habits. This lunation also helps us use past knowledge and skill to meet the demands of the path we are being shown now. POWERFUL STUFF!

I keep thinking of one of my favorite affirmations today.
"I am a being of violet fire,
I am the purity God desires."
Violet is the color of the crown chakra which connects us with source, and is also the color of amethyst which helps us to rid ourselves of old habits and addictions-including thought patterns. It is also the scent of Lavender which is calming and soothing-be gentle with your S'elf.
See you soon!

Hello Darlinks
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: All Right Now-(I Forget Who Sings It!)
Topic: A-OK
I should be headed for the pillow, but I wanted to share my elation at the fact that I have my second response paper for the good Dr. Stotts FINISHED ahead of schedule, and while all of the freaking out I did last week resulted in a bit more essay than was required, I got all of the points that were possible to get on the first assignment!!! Now that I have the procedure down, I was able to cut my effort in half (or more) compared to the first one. (Thank the Great Amoeba, because I don't think I could have done 5 more if they were all like that!) Is it possible that I was making a mountain out of a molehill last week? Well, I am a Capricorn, and we DO like to overcome a good obstacle, but I am taking this very seriously! I want a 4.0 for the semester! I know I can!
For those of you who are hanging in there, waiting for my intermittent asto-blurbs, I have an exciting week in the stars to report to you! The new moon is in Taurus this Thursday the 27th (my daddy's birthday) and it highlights career evaluation. As you well know, I am in a constant state of this, and am doing everything in my power to honor the universe by constantly working to improve myself. (God helps those who help themselves... WOOHOO-HELP ME!!!) You might find yourself asking whether you are really fulfilling your true heart's desire. Go ahead-make it happen! (If I can do it...)
On the 29th, (just in time for Sat. Mkt) the Sun sextiles Mars and Mercury Sextiles Neptune. This is the ONE, TWO PUNCH when it comes to dreaming big and then acting on it! Mercury communicates with Neptune to create a dreamy fantasy like state where we can come up with some of our most inspirational thoughts. Then the Sun and Mars shine a light on the direction to take to DO IT!!!
On the 30th Venus squares Pluto, and our love life is given a little nudge by the planet of rebirth. Everything old is new again. Be gentle with the ones you truly care about. (Include yourSELF!)
Alright, if I don't get back here for a couple of days, I hope that gives you something to think about. Next time I hope to talk about Sana Krusoe, and how she is (hopefully) going to help me get the BFA degree that I had nearly given up hope for...(she stopped by and told me that the piece I have been working on for Gabe's class is "EXCITING"-woohoo-I am quivering with GLEEEEEEEE....)
See you in the funny papers!!!

Mood:  spacey
Now Playing: Flaming Lips
Topic: Spunky
Let's talk about you for a little bit- What's been going on in your life? Are you happy with it? What have you been doing to make your day better than yesterday? It seems that all that is asked of us is that we keep making our lives a little better every day. It is our choice to create what is in our lives-good and bad. Yes, random "stuff" happens to the best of us, but when you look back on your day, was it fruitful and productive? (Even if productive meant taking a much needed nap...(everything we need to know, we learned in Kindergarden!-Except I skipped Kindergarden...)
Here in Eugene, Saturday Market in the AM. Supposed to be sunny and in the 60's tomorrow (and 70's SUNDAY!!) We definately deserve it for sitting through last week!!! Mmmmmmm...I can feel the shorts and skirts making their way to the front of the closet...The folks of Eugene will be needin' a nice hairwrap to complete their ensemble...and I know where to get one!!! (or more!)
Quick school update, I got 21 out of 20 on my math quiz..(one extra credit point) I actually missed one lousy point because I didn't "show my work" on a problem (but I got it right-so I obviously knew what I was doing-DUH!)
Meanwhile, I was working on a piece in ceramics. I have been carving on it for days, and I still didn't get it completed, but it is really going to be worth the time and effort. I hope Gabriel (my instructor) gives me some leniency on the completion date, because I am taking like a week longer than I was supposed to!!!! I was carving these creatures that began a long time ago-(On a Magic Bus-Far-Far Away!)and the piece has quite a bit of surface area to cover...sigh-I can't just do things the easy way-the assignment was to make a head-nothing fancy...If you want to get right down to it-with everything going on in my brain at this point in time, I am not surprised that my project is so complex! I am actually pretty excited about it, and have been thinking that maybe I might buy a small kiln with some of my grant money-There is a reason that it keeps coming up in my life.
Still wondering what the good Dr. Stotts is going to think of my response paper. I haven't even gone back to read what I wrote because I am afraid I will pick it apart and trip out about it. I'll know on Monday! For now, I've got an appointment with the sandman...
G'ni-ni...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

If you haven't read my last post yet, go there first, or this will not have the same effect...

So, I told you in my last post about my Bob Marley Cosmic Intervention-and I go to school, then I go to "HIPPIE's, the movie" (really what it is named!)and I walk into the theatre, and I hear "no Woman...No Cry..." and there is a whole Bob Marley concert video playing during the period between when the doors opened and when the movie started...I think somebody is trying to tell me something!

Hey Now, My little Mandala-FLites,
I have less than zero time to do this, but I wanted to say hi, and tell you that today here in Eugene (Hippie Central) is a film about Hippies saving the Earth (7:30pm-the McDonald Theater) and this weekend is Earth Day (if you weren't already informed) so prepare to do something nice for Our Mother-won't you?
This week has been a challenge, as I had to do a formal response essay for my Global Feminism class and let's just say-it is something I have never really had to do, for a Professer who is REALLY on top of it, and a subject that we have covered an AMAZING amount of material on. I actually had a full on PANIC attack-complete with flashbacks and realizations of fears that I have developed over the course of my free-form life about authority figures, and strong female role models (or the lack thereof...), and what the hell am I trying to accomplish with a lousy B.S. (really) degree, and the whole pity party ball-o-wax!!!
...and then-in it's Magical Universe kind of way-as I am making my way out of the EMU (Student Union) behind my bookbag and some napkins for my weepy eyes...I walked out the doors into the courtyard where they happened to be playing music...to hear..."No Woman, No Cry...Everything Gonna Be Alright..." Yes folks B is for BOB...Thanks Great Amoeba!!!
I get my paper back on Monday...(nail-bite...) HAVE MERCY DR. STOTT!!!

Topic: Happy Easter
Welcome to the Easter Installment of "OH MY GOD, I AM SOOOOO BUSY!!!" Hope your Easter was pleasant! Mine sure was.
I apologise for not keeping my loyal readership up to date with the astro-reports, I can barely keep up with my daily newspaper horoscope right now! I have also been having some EXTREMELY vivid dreams that I know you would have fun with, but I haven't been able to sit down long enough to share them! Suffice to say-Dreams are WIERD!!! Feel free to tell me some of yours!
A quick look at the cosmos tells me that Friday there were 6 of the 10 major planets in WATER signs. Not only does this make for an emotional day, but also makes for issues with water-maybe that is one of the reasons for the SATURDAY MARKET SHOWERS that kept the vendors that did show up (like me...) clinging to the rafters of our booths in an effort to keep them from blowing away in the wind, or becoming a part of the Willamette River!
Seriously, less than half of the reserve vendors actually showed up in the morning, and a good portion of those that did, ended up taking down their booths before noon as winds gusted and tested the riggings of our makeshift village. I am one of the lucky ones...not only is my booth good and heavy, it faces East, with it's Southwest corner to the wind. In addition, I am backed by a sweet little (inscence pine?) tree that proved to be a barrier to the bluster! (Great Feng Shui:)) The first Saturday that we set up, I noticed that one of it's branches was pushing at the back of the booth, and I let it in through the top of my tarp. One of the other vendors said that I could have the city trim it so that it wouldn't be in my way. I told them that the tree was there first, and I was happy to let it have it's space...I am even more happy now. Looks like I have a Happy Tree Friend! I LOVE my reserve space!!!
Tomorrow starts week three of my Degree Quest. It is going really quickly, and I am loving it-even though, (or maybe because!) I am on a tight schedule and taking in more new information than I thought possible. My schedule allows me to still volunteer at South Tuesdays and Thursdays, have ceramic studio time form 11-6 on Tuesdays, 10-6 on Thursdays, and 9-2 on Fridays. I can be home by 4 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 6:30 Tuesdays and Thursdays! I have time built in to do my homework, and I have been able to add at least one improvement to my Saturday Market Booth each week so far!!! I am amazed at the amount of productivity I have been capable of! I am certain that my FABULOUS NIA excersize class on Sunday Afternoons helps reset my clock for the week!!! We have taken to calling it the Church of NIA!!! HALLELUJAH!
This week the moon starts out in Sagittarius, and if you are struck by inspiration, RUN WITH IT!!! The moon hops into Capricorn on Tuesday, and that means get down to business...Somewhere around Thursday it is in Aquarius, and by Saturday, which is "Earth Day" (when I will be hanging out with my tree friend...) it will be in Pisces-which is the Dreamiest of all of the zodiac signs. Maybe we can dream up a good way to get our administration to make friends with a tree or two!!! (GEORGE WASHINGTON GREW HEMP!!! We should too!!!)
Hope to see you all soon!!!

Mood:  special
Now Playing: Brass In Pocket-The Pretenders

Before we get into the nitty gritty of the study duty, I have an exciting new professional development! I have been included in Clare Goodwin's Mandala Page, which is described as "an exploration of the mandala as a tool for growth and the discovery of the self. It includes an extensive guide to mandala resources in print and on the world wide web."!!! It is a fantastic resource for mandala artists, and I am honored to have been included!-Check it out! I am listed under contemporary mandala artists (alphabetically-under Crisanti)Enjoy! There are so many great artists out there! -Claire Goodwin's Mandala Page p.s. my bestest friend is on there too---She's Gina De Francesco!
Meanwhile things are just Ducky at the U of O. I had a dream last night where I was factoring equations, which is something I have been struggling with in the waking hours. Hopefully it is my higher self waking up the hamster...
I also dreamt that I was asked to work a shift at a restaurant, to help them out on a really busy day---which is an examination of having been asked to be the "service bartender" for the "Buncha-Bull"-on the infamous "Cuervo De Mayo-Drunkfest". I passed in the dream AND in real life as well. Sorry to the Hombre's De La Casa... (I might make some cash, but I would lose a piece of my soul! Besides it is on Friday and I have school and then Saturday Market the next day-what is more important?-hmmmm!) In the dream it was the person who asked me in real life, but it was the restaurant I put myself through college on the first time...almost 20 years ago! There were people from both places, and there I was getting ready to pick up a shift-BUT THEN-lo and behold-I STOPPED MYSELF-I took off the uniform, and told them I was sorry, but I just couldn't do it! I got in the car with Babboo and T-Bone and left the Restaurant one dish short of a full course...and drove off into the sunset to fulfill my DESTINY!!!
There is hope for me yet!
Thought for the day: Would you like "papas" with that?

Palm Sunday
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Patty Cake
Topic: Day of Rest
It is the end of a long weekend. I have been so intensely productive this week, that I think that I somehow must have created an extra 24 hours within the framework of it in order to accomplish all that I got done-YAY!!!
Market was a little wet yesterday, we got downpoured on for about the last hour and a half, but the rest of the day was pretty reasonable for Spring in the Pacific Northwest. I did some really sweet hairwraps, and made a couple of nice additions to the booth that seemed to work out in my favor. I am still waiting for my cards from the print shop, and I am trying to fit a visit to my advisor at the micro-business center into a very full Monday or Tuesday-SIGH.
I have been having a lot of vivid dreams the last couple of nights, and this morning there was one that stuck with me. I was in a lecture hall, there were a few people, no desks or anything but a podium and chalkboards and stuff. I kept noticing the time, one of those big clocks that all schools have. In the lower right hand corner of the room there was a sheep, and when I went to it, I saw that it had two lambs. I sat down next to it and started petting them, and picked one up and had it in my lap. I was holding it, and petting it the way that I do my dog, and I felt this overwhelming love for it. It was so clear, that I swear I could feel it's soft fur, and it's warmth. When I woke up I kept thinking it was the "Lamb of God". I looked in my dream book, and it basically said the same thing. I am apparently feeling the love for the Christ consciousness-how appropriate for Palm Sunday-huh! (Think someone is trying to tell me something?) I hope I can be ready to accept the love back!
On that note, I am realizing that I have a couple of things to read for tomorrow's Global Feminism class, and I know that my teacher is not going to go easy on us, so I'd better get to bed...
Thought for the day: Feel the Love!!!
