Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Love Train-The O'Jays
Monday, Monday. I didn't have Global Feminisms today because of a "veterinary emergency" (not mine-hers) I hope everything is okay. Can't say that I was disappointed! (even though I really like the class a lot) I came home and used the time to have a much needed nap. This week with all of the action, I have needed extra sleep to let my body heal. I am feeling much better. I used Panaway oil on my shoulders and neck, and I rubbed my feet with Peace and Calming, and I was KNOCKED OUT!!! The lady that hit us is lucky I am so darn healthy! (or hard headed...)
Saturday Market was better than it has been, and my new cards hit the presses today! I should have them by Thursday!!! I already have a store in Portland that is a possible outlet outside of Eugene. I am finally going to be able to retail them. HOORAY. This is another step up...moment I have been waiting for!
At the end of this week, the planets will be picking up the pace for all of us. On Friday, Mercury, the planet of Communication and Travel, moves into one of it's home signs-Gemini-with the Sun-it's closest pal, moving in the next day. Anyone who knows a Gemini knows how social and animated they can be. This planetary placement will have that effect on all of us. Get ready to come out and PLAY!!! (Good time for a FOLK FESTIVAL!)
Hope you all have a great week-I will be trying to rock out some product for next weekend, while maintaining my studious side. I am still doing what it takes-I WANT AAAAAAAAAAAAAA'S~~~and I am going to get them!!! Gotta run..time to write about Ammonites...
Thought for the day: What exactly is an AMMONITE?

Topic: Scorpio Full Moon
Maybe it is the Scorpio full moon that is creating the bountiful festival of feelings that I am currently experiencing. This is the Buddhist moon of Bounty, and tonight is Lunar Beltane. It is a night for celebration, and thanks for our gifts. It is a night where we are open to the sounds of the universe as it travels through it's own space (can you feel it?) I was once told that the sound that the Gyoto Monks make in their songs is much like the sound that the planets make as they travel around the sun. I believe it! OM.
I am still a little sore from the accident, and at the suggestion of my insurance company, I went to the Health Center at school and found out how sick I really WASN'T! I am VERY aware of what is going on in my body. I can feel exactly where the vertebrae (#5 or 6 or so) are pressing on the nerve. It is very mild, and I know that a little chiropractic adjustment and maybe a massage, and I will be good as new.
I was not impressed by the doctor who said that I would need x-rays AND AN MRI to see if I had a pinched nerve. I was amazed at the ease with which he was ready to dispense these MAJOR tests for something that was a relatively minor complaint. I asked what would happen if the MRI said that I had a pinched nerve to which he replied "Then we would schedule you for a consultation with a NEURO-SURGEON!"
Let me go on my little rant about the Insurance/Medical community. They are in it for the money. (Big News,HUH) I am SERIOUSLY DISGUSTED BY THE WHOLE DEAL!!! I rubbed some Panaway Oil on it and did some Reiki-a little Peace and Calming Oil and I slept like a baby. The bump is still a little achy-It's in a tender spot, but SURGERY?! Thank Dr. Young for Young Living Oils, and another option for the natural way of healing. I love this stuff!(check it out-Young Living Oils I'm consultant #889521)
I asked the "Doctor" at the "Health Center" about chiropractics. He proceeded to give me the reply about how "there is an historic rift between chiropractors and the medical community, and he didn't really know what to tell me about it." He did say that if I knew a good one, I might go there-but I should still get the MRI. I'm wondering if the University gets a kickback for these things-I was not the only one who I heard them suggest this test to. No wonder the literature for the Health Center says "Students are ENCOURAGED to use the Health Center." I felt like they were SO detached from actual healing-I am frightened for the people who just listen to everything these people tell them. I can't believe that this is considered healthy. Goddess help us!
On another note, I had a really detailed dream about being at the grocery store. I found a deal on butter, and I was going to stock up when I asked myself why, and put it back. Then I found these eggs in a clear plastic container which had all twelve of them in a row, and I picked it up because I thought it was really cool. I put the eggs in the cart, and thought to myself that it was really kind of strange to wrap a natural egg in so much plastic. I have this feeling about this package being like a strand of RNA.
Then I started looking at clothes, and noticed that I was picking out all of these green shirts and sweaters. I thought that I was subconsciously wrapping myself in the color of abundance (woohoo!) but found myself really thinking hard about getting exactly what I wanted. I knew that I was dreaming at this point. Then, I found that I was standing near a place like a dressing room, putting together an outfit and deciding if I really wanted it, and this man who seemed to be the store manager came up and was telling me to just go ahead and buy it all. (Much like the Doctor-huh!) He was wearing a red shirt, a dark gray tie, black pants, and was overweight and smoking. I had the feeling that he was a personification of the Devil, and I calmly told him that I wanted to be sure of what I really wanted before I actually purchased anything. He kept trying to persuade me, but I was calm and sure of myself, and didn't buy. I woke up wondering about the green, and the abundance issues I might have. I had a feeling that I wanted this one particular sweater that was in the cart. HMMMMM...
Well, I'd better get along little Doggies-but not before I welcome to the fold the newest addition to the family-My best friend's new "sausage-dog" Sir Desmond Goldenheart. Yay-PUPPIES!!!

PROOFS!
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: Tyrone and Babboo at the Dog Park
Topic: AT LAST!!!
Well, as usual it has been quite a week. The accident left minor damage which they are going to fix, and I am going in today to have the bump on my head examined (very funny...) because it is giving me a dull headache, and I think I got a bit of whiplash...it doesn't appear to be anything big-a couple of chiropractor appointments and another week of healing. I'll put some Panaway oil on the sore muscles.
The bigger injury was to my pride when after all of that running around (I was going to get my letter of recommendation from Gwen when we got hit) I DID NOT GET ACCEPTED INTO THE B.F.A. Program! Their reason was that because I was "new" to the studio they really didn't know anything about me, (Hello-that's what a PORTFOLIO AND LETTER OF INTENT IS ALL ABOUT) and they only had 3 spaces open and 5 people applied. I have a definite opinion about one of the panel members, which I am going to set free to the ethers for transformation-let's just say, we have known each other before (other lifetime) and I must have really ticked him off. I figure this means I have more important things to do next year than "be validated" as an artist by the academic community.
What this means is that I will get my B.S. degree (how funny is that)at the end of this term, and it still won't really matter in my daily life any more than it has for the last 20 years, but it WILL be crossed off my list. Plus if I want to get an M.F.A. or something this will be out of the way. AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH....
Wait-I still have 4 weeks and 2 days of classes with 3 more response papers due for Alex's class-AND a project paper AND two five page essays for a final-I am not out of the woods yet! I am getting an A in Math so far! And I'm sure in Ceramics. Still waiting to see how the Geology exam went (I feel pretty good about it)
AND TODAY I AM GOING IN TO APPROVE THE PROOFS FOR MY OFFICIALLY PRINTED ZODIAC CARDS!!! THIS IS WHAT BEING AN ARTIST IS REALLY ABOUT!!! Gotta run...see you in the funny papers!

The Trouble with Trilobites
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Edmonton/Buffalo-NHL FINALS
Topic: What Homework?
For the record, this picture that I included with the last blog was sacred geometry for purification. If you look at it, it will help purify your actions, thoughts, and spirit. OM.
Tonight I have to draw Tilobites, Brachiopods, and other assorted Cambrian fossils for Geology Lab tomorrow-Never a dull moment. You can see, I am all over it...(in a minute). You know I try to be positive, but I've got to go on a bit of a rant here.
Yesterday I read something to the effect of Saturn squaring Mercury which is having the effect of a mini Mercury Retrograde, which as we have talked about before, is bad for travel and communication. This was evidenced today in my life when I was supposed to pick up a letter of recommendation in the morning, but when I went, it wasn't done. I needed it in my portfolio TODAY (and I had given her a weeks notice) The writer of said letter said she'd do it by by noon, so I went to class, and on my way back to her at noon, Babboo and I (and Tyrone) got REAR ENDED. It isn't a big dent, but it happens to be right where the latch is on the hatch of my little Civic Wagon-making it inoperable. This would not be a big deal right away except I CAN'T GET MY STUFF FOR MARKET INTO THE CAR NOW!!! and I know it won't be fixed by this weekend! GRRRRRRR...I also got a nice little whack where my head hit the head rest (thankfully it was where it was supposed to be)maybe it will knock some sense into me...
I'm not holding my breath.
We were at a red light, and turning right when it turned green. I'm not sure what she was doing, but when she came up to the car she said "oops, sorry, I must have looked down at just the wrong time!" YAH, you might say that! I really needed something else to deal with.
Thanks for letting me get that off of my chest...off to FOSSIL FANTASIA...
Think Happy Thoughts.

Grand Water Trine!!!
Mood:  special
Now Playing: Age of Aquarius-5th Dimension
Topic: Fixed Grand Cross!!!
First a Happy Birthday to a long lost/newly refound gal pal-"Jewel-y" who's counter clicks back to 0 this year, and she gets a fresh start at another decade. It is one of her goals to release tobacco from her grasp this year, so any good thoughts sent her way on that subject will be healing. As with all of you, I am wishing her well. She has had some pretty big challenges in the last year or so, and should be proud of how strong she is, and what a beautiful family she has. Think "Purification"...The planets are with her for this solar return! This weekend is a biggie as far as the planets go. There is a Grand Water Trine which happens today and tomorrow, but whose effects we will be feeling for quite some time. This is an emotional setting, but a good one for releasing age old blocks, like the ones we gained in childhood. Jupiter in Scorpio leads the change, this is about expanding consciousness and purifying our desires to raise the vibration of the entire planet. (EVERY LITTLE THING!) The Grand Cross is again about old habits, and loosening up the lug nuts so whe can change tires! On Sunday, there is a grand Earth trine as well as the Water one, and it is a time for setting up the dikes and levees (Earth=Structure) to make the water (Water=Emotion) to channel the water to properly irrigate our "crops!!!". What are the things we have planted? What is the emotional support we need to help them grow? Where do we find it? Take this opportunity to direct your emotion to where it will do the greatest good! Go Do Some! Every little bit helps! OM.

Cuervo de Mayo
Mood:  party time!
Now Playing: Get Drunk and Screw-Jimmy Buffet
Topic: Eat the Worm!
Hello Again Kids,
Miracles do happen, and now that my midterm week is drawing to a close, I have a few minutes to reflect. Ahhhh. I think I just passed my Geology Midterm with flying colors-WooHoo-I DO ROCK!!!
It is Cinco de Mayo. It is NOT Mexiczn Independence Day-that is September 15! Cinco de Mayo is the day that Juarez's loyalists defeated the French troops sent by Napoleon III in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Ironically it is also the anniversary of the death of Napoleon Bonaparte in exile on St. Helena 41 years earlier in 1821) Tough day to be a Napoleon (unless you are DYN-O-MITE!)
Because we are American, and such beautiful, happy, well-oiled, shiny, happy people, many of us celebrate this event (which is SO near and dear to us) by supporting Cuervo and Sauza (and the small handful of tequila companies that these giants do not own) through a disgusting display of binge drinking, dirty dancing, and binge purging. In the words of one of the most famous of these party girls-"HOT!". The mentality of many of these revelers is summed up in the question I got from a girl a couple of years ago. She came into the bar about a week after the event and told me that "She had a GREAT TIME on Cinco" and the proceeded to ask me "When are you going to have another one?" I should have quit right there!
For those of you who have not been reading along for long-you should know that I was employed by a restaurant which is typically a nice, family oriented, Mexican restaurant-until Cinco...When it becomes one giant "Animal House" and anything goes. For SEVEN years, I was a shot girl, a satellite bartender, an outside main bartender,an inside main bartender(the most lucrative position), and last year I was a shift manager (which meant working for an hourly wage and not getting tipped!).
It is a requirement that employees work this event, for most of us it is about a 14+ hour day (11am-2,3, or 4am!), not including the weeks leading up to it preparations (i.e. tying neon shoestrings to little shotglasses for revelers to wear around their necks to show just how wasted they really are -not that it doesn't become obvious rather quickly otherwise!) There are mountains of liquor company promotional flashy buttons, ugly tee shirts, and general landfill. There is A TON OF BOOZE!!! Do I sound bitter?
For seven Cincos, I bit my tongue in the name of "I need this job-because I make money and have health insurance" [barely], but when I was contacted by the "Cuervo Cantina" to please come and work for this special event...I had to say-"NO WAY,JOSE" I have done my time! Yes it would have been a quick hundred or so bucks, but it would have cost me another piece of my soul!!! And I am just now earning the other pieces back from the LAST seven years!
I've got to run because I have a dentist appointment-I would rather have teeth pulled than work that mess!!! (okay-I am really just getting my new crown-see, told you I was a princess!)
Do something fun! TA-TA

AIR!!!
Mood:  hungry
Now Playing: Under Pressure-David Bowie/Queen
Topic: OMG!!!
Hi kids, I didn't forget about you, I have just been "filled to the gills" with little tasks that seem to take approximately 2.3 times longer than I expect they are going to, and am not able to squeeze little "extras" in (blog, daydreaming,...sleep).
This has been a really intense week due to my BFA application which involved rounding up old and new slides, an application, letter of intent, 2 letters of recommendation (one of which is still forthcoming...but going to be great-this is how you get paid for volunteering!) and presenting it in an attractive package. It was due Monday, but I got to slip a couple of extras in today. Thankfully Sana had some sympathy due to the fact that I didn't know about the deadline until last WEDS because of my "college hiatus"!!!
In addition, I had Math homework, a Math quiz, another Global Feminism response paper-about 50 pages of reading (same class) and a 3 page Geology paper, all due at various points between Tusday at 10am and today at 2! Did I mention that I spent 5 hours yesterday glazing a "head" to get fired today for a critique tomorrow? Yeah---I got my booty kicked!!!
The fun fact is that it is NOT because I put things off until the last minute at all! I have been really great about pacing myself. I have to say that this is probably the most intense term that I have ever taken, and THANK THE GREAT AMOEBA IT'S THE LAST before I get a WELL DESERVED DEGREE! (The BFA year is a whole different animal-NO MATH!!!)
I have to say, however I am still LOVING IT!!! I like being busy, and I am challenged in the most amazing ways. The classes are all very interesting (even math). The Women's Studies class is probably the most challenging, because I haven't ever really had to do this level of writing (Art History papers are way different). I can see how it is affecting things for me on a jillion levels! I have always considered myself pretty conversational, this is really making me think about how to get action from my words.
NOW GET BACK TO WORK!!! (and LIKE IT!!!)

Beltaine Eve
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Ring Around the Rosy
Topic: May Day!
Hi, Kids! Picture this:
"a thousand Barefoot children outside...
DANCIN'ON MY LAWN!!!
A couple of days ago my lawn was the lushest tuftiest (like a Bay City Roller...for those of us who were there!) greenest tender-underfootiest, mooshy-squooshy, green, green grass of home lawn. There were these little daisies all over it and of course some dandelions-rawwrrr....in a good way. Babboo had to use the weedwhacker to take it down, but for a little while we had quite the meadow. AHHHH..spring is sprung.
Tomorrow is Beltaine, or May Day. It is special because it falls right between the Spring Eqinox and the Summer Solstice. I found this little Mother Goose ditty and I think it will be my meditation for the week:
For every evil under the sun
There is a remedy, or there is none.
If there be one, try and find it.
If there be none, never mind it.

(Seems like the least we can do!)

I am currently learning things about essential oils so that I can use them with my mandala workshops. I found a company that I really believe in, and I am really taking in a lot of information at this point. I know that using them in the meditations I do when I create the personalized mandalas, helps open my senses. I took some peppermint to NIA class with me, and put some on my back right over my kidneys. I feel like I really push my system sometimes, and I have NO TIME for adrenal fatigue-which I think everyone suffers from to one degree or another...peppermint oil is a great purifier, and I felt as if it cooled off my chi in that area. I have been drinking wolfberry juice (NINXIA RED-which we have nicknamed- "hippie red bull" but It doesn't have any of the Red-Bull&^%*#) and it is a powerful anti-oxidant, and has all kinds of good stuff in it for cleansing your liver and kidneys. Who couldn't use that! I have six more weeks of class left, so I need to be as good to my body as I can!
There is this Raindrop Technique using nine different oils from the feet to the top of the head that I am going to look into next. I cannot believe the amount of amazing things there are to learn!!! This truly is the school of life! Go learn something and report back to me!!!

New Moon Taurus
Mood:  rushed
Now Playing: Southern Cross-Crosby, Stills, and Nash
Topic: Fixed Grand Cross
First Order of Business-Happy Birthday to my dad!
Second-Happy Belated 21st (by a day) to my best gal pal's son Derek.
Third-I think I kicked booty on my math midterm!WOOHOO!
Fourth-Big New Moon in Taurus aspect today where the sun and moon are joined at 7 degrees, and opposing Jupiter (luck and expansion) and these square Saturn and Chiron creating a grand cross in fixed signs. This configuration is like taking a tire iron to a tough nut. Time to loosen up the nuts that are keeping us clinging to old patterns and dysfunctional habits. This lunation also helps us use past knowledge and skill to meet the demands of the path we are being shown now. POWERFUL STUFF!

I keep thinking of one of my favorite affirmations today.
"I am a being of violet fire,
I am the purity God desires."
Violet is the color of the crown chakra which connects us with source, and is also the color of amethyst which helps us to rid ourselves of old habits and addictions-including thought patterns. It is also the scent of Lavender which is calming and soothing-be gentle with your S'elf.

Hello Darlinks
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: All Right Now-(I Forget Who Sings It!)
Topic: A-OK
I should be headed for the pillow, but I wanted to share my elation at the fact that I have my second response paper for the good Dr. Stotts FINISHED ahead of schedule, and while all of the freaking out I did last week resulted in a bit more essay than was required, I got all of the points that were possible to get on the first assignment!!! Now that I have the procedure down, I was able to cut my effort in half (or more) compared to the first one. (Thank the Great Amoeba, because I don't think I could have done 5 more if they were all like that!) Is it possible that I was making a mountain out of a molehill last week? Well, I am a Capricorn, and we DO like to overcome a good obstacle, but I am taking this very seriously! I want a 4.0 for the semester! I know I can!
For those of you who are hanging in there, waiting for my intermittent asto-blurbs, I have an exciting week in the stars to report to you! The new moon is in Taurus this Thursday the 27th (my daddy's birthday) and it highlights career evaluation. As you well know, I am in a constant state of this, and am doing everything in my power to honor the universe by constantly working to improve myself. (God helps those who help themselves... WOOHOO-HELP ME!!!) You might find yourself asking whether you are really fulfilling your true heart's desire. Go ahead-make it happen! (If I can do it...)
On the 29th, (just in time for Sat. Mkt) the Sun sextiles Mars and Mercury Sextiles Neptune. This is the ONE, TWO PUNCH when it comes to dreaming big and then acting on it! Mercury communicates with Neptune to create a dreamy fantasy like state where we can come up with some of our most inspirational thoughts. Then the Sun and Mars shine a light on the direction to take to DO IT!!!
On the 30th Venus squares Pluto, and our love life is given a little nudge by the planet of rebirth. Everything old is new again. Be gentle with the ones you truly care about. (Include yourSELF!)
Alright, if I don't get back here for a couple of days, I hope that gives you something to think about. Next time I hope to talk about Sana Krusoe, and how she is (hopefully) going to help me get the BFA degree that I had nearly given up hope for...(she stopped by and told me that the piece I have been working on for Gabe's class is "EXCITING"-woohoo-I am quivering with GLEEEEEEEE....)
See you in the funny papers!!!
