Saturday Market Update

Some good news on the Saturday Market front. It is possible that the 8x8 space that I have been in for the last three weekends in a row, may be a booth that can be reserved, and there is a possibility that I will have my corner spot for the rest of the summer! I really like it for a number of reasons. My logo is visible from a bunch of angles, and it is right on a corner of the block. I can't tell you how much easier it is than having to wait to be assigned a random space. Wish me luck. I painted a new sign for the booth last night, and worked on Tobi and Alex's piece tonight. I have business plan class tomorrow night and I haven't done any work on my business plan since class two weeks ago. OUCH! There is just so much to do! I did go to peer group, and the open house they had for us. It was a treat. Overall, I think things are progressing quite nicely. PEACE

Th-ub-e ub-oth-ub-er d-ub-ay, ub-I w-ub-as t-ub-alk-ub-ing ub-ab-ub-out ub-ub-ubbi dub-bu-ubbi. (for the ubunubitiubatubed [uninitiated} that is, "the other day I was talking about ubbi-dubbi.") Ubbi-Dubbi is a "language" from the show ZOOM on PBS. The reason I bring it up is because I think I will be making it the official language of the Garden of Fountain. To speak it, you just add "ub" before the vowel sounds!! Ub-it's ub-eas-uby!! (It's Easy!) Now I suppose you want to know WHY? it is that it should be the official language of the Garden of Fountain? OKAY...Since you are BEGGING and PLEADING soooo... Since we got The Rodeo Tornado Superior Cow Dog Tyrone, we have noticed a phenomenon in the garden. I'm not sure what to make of it, but it's hard not to notice. Tyrone has a stub-tail. His best friend Ruby, has a stub tail. Ruby's friend came over, her name is Trinity (dog#3 is Trinity-hee hee!) She has a stub-tail. Then I saw a squirrel back where the puppies have their play-dates, and GUESS WHAT! A mere STUB of a Tail. Well-as if that weren't enough...we were out there again Friday, and Babboo sees this fledgeling Stellar Jay in the grass. He picks it up-it hasn't grown enough adult feathers to fly. Babboo holds it up-and I see that it has ONLY A STUB OF A (very pretty) blue jay tail. Therefore-the Garden of Fountain is now AKA The Garden of STUBBER NUBBER.

Still getting shut down every-so often. Bear with me. It's my sister Kim's Birthday. Yesterday was my nephew Declan's. Kim is the "MIDDLE CHILD". I am the oldest, Robyn is the "BABY" Our birthdays are arranged in a cool pattern. I was born on New Years Eve, Kim was born on my parent's wedding anniversary, and Robyn was born in the middle of the year. Robyn's birthday is my 1/2 birthday, and vice versa. We were born on the day most coupons and special offers expire ( 6/30 and 12/31 )!!! I like to say "Robyn is my evil twin, I am hers, and Kim is her own evil twin (gemini!)." It's funny to see the patterns in families. My ex's family's birthdays are the 11th,12th,13th,14th and 15th (of different months) WHAT' UP WIT DAT?! P.S. Jsa Jsa Gabore-Butt is the name that we "affectionately" called middle sister Kim. It evolved from Jai, who is Tarzan's young jungle friend. We saw some black and white movie and decided Kim looked like him. No wonder so many people can't get over the damage done to them by their siblings. Fortunately, we're even. She's the reason I started dating my ex!!! (I'm NOT bitter!)

Hubi Frubiends. Hubow ubare yubou? I started this entry b4 bed, and I was writing the closing line of what was a semi-lengthy, but oh-so-entertaining story. As I was closing, "Internet Explorer encountered a problem." and CLOSED MY ENTRY which erases everything I wrote. I will have to explain the first sentence tomorrow...my apologies-I've gotta get my zzzzzzzzzzzz's to be fresh for Chico's Champagne-O-Rama in the morning. Brunch anyone?

Welcome back, Star Wars friends and foes alike. I assure you that the Force is with you. Try not to be against it. Having two custom mandalas to work on is really fun. As usual, I discover all kinds of fun things and I get into these theme schemes. Ida's Aries Art is taking shape through some very purposeful paper shredding. It is REALLY layered, and has yet to get any paint. It's going to be deluxe. Tobi and Alex are creating little miracles around me. The first person to see their mandala duet at it's beginning, besides the people who live in this house, was Dylan's friend ALEX. (Then Alex's mom. BTW-they both liked the color choices.) The funny thing I learned about their piece is that it will be paid for in a roundabout kinda way. The story goes, Tobi's best friend is my boss. I currently owe my boss the same amount that I am getting for the mandala. My boss, in the mean time, bought a couple of chairs from Tobi for (coincidently?) the same amount as well!! So, when I deliver the mandala, I will get the money from Tobi, give it to my boss, and she can give it BACK TO TOBI!!! We each get what we want, for the same amount and no money will really have to be exchanged!! Tobi and Alex get a mandala, my boss get's two chairs, as for me, I get to buy the front half of MY PUPPY!!! (I already freed the back half with Ida's!) Mandala MAGIC!!!

Star Wars, wonderful Star Wars, Fabulous Star Wars, Sta-a-ar Wars. Maybe I should have stayed at the hoppin VRC for the premier of the latest installment of computer generated armies. Tonight there was a line 3 or 4 people wide and curled through the at capacity parking lot, waiting for the midnite hour to see Annakin Lose His Marbles. I am wondering who is crazier. Then I recall my last couple of entries and I realize "When you point ONE finger at someone else, there are THREE pointing back at YOU!!"

My apologies to those of you who I have already bored with my story. I have to keep the whole network up to speed. I wrote that entry this morning about Ida and my I.D.A. and about how I was going to put the caudeceus in the mandala. WELL... It just so happened that I went downtown to drop off some paperwork for my I.D.A., and pick up some paper for Ida's Aries Art. (Like I said "I'd better get moving!", so I did.) Anyway, after picking about 6 pieces of beautiful paper for her piece, I got into my car to drive home. I pulled onto the main artery to my home, and I was behind a white van that delivers medical supplies. It says SHAW (~) MED and instead of my little (~) there is a gold CAUDECIUS. I was behind it for the main part of my drive home and couldn't help but laugh knowing that I was thinking of that VERY image for her. I don't care what anyone else thinks, it makes me giggle when I get reinforcement from my environment. Coincidence, or Random Chance, a Long Strange Trip, or LUCK..? Who are we to say. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm not going to get any more hours in one day, so I've started thinking about it all as one big day, that we sleep through parts of. I am going to set up my I.D.A. savings plan that allows me to save up to $1334 and they will match it 3:1 (that's $4000 for all you private school delinquents who skipped math to smoke and drink with the cutie laundry delivery boy...you know who you are.) When they say that there is money out there for small businesses, believe them, but it ain't happening if you don't make it happen!!! I am also going to the art supply store to find the paper for Ida's Aries Art. Ida is a girl who goes to private school in Indiana, but is from Portland. She is a young Aries girl who has always wanted to save someone's life! She has the world as her oyster at this point, the paths are laid out in front of her and she is trying to figure out which one to put her foot on. I want her mandala to contain the symbol of the caudecius, the staff of healing. I'd better get started!!!

Work, Work and more Work. One of the regular cast and crew of the "Burning Burrito" is on vacation, and part of my deal with the big britches is that I fill in and do my part when the crew needs a filler. Job Title: Bondo. This means an extra day for it to suck the life out of me this week, but also a few extra shillings in the coffer in the near future. I made a bit of progress on the Tobi and Alex write up. I wrote two pages already and have barely scratched the surface of all there is to say about what I have found out! I also have a good picture of what I am going to do with Ida's Aries Artwork. I don't know how to explain the leap in information that I am getting with these new pictures. Images are coming quickly. I am really productive. I know that I want them to have several levels. I want them to have varied textures and found object elements. The major stopping block is that I have no place to store the kind of findlings that I want to have on hand. It's kind of an addiction, once you start allowing yourself to pick up odds and ends that will "eventually become sculpture". It is just as likely they will become CLUTTER!!! I need the mojo to be able to know the difference.

I'm layin it all on the line. Just puttin it out there, so the Universe can hear me. I had a great Market last Saturday. I set up in the spot that I had last week. I have picked the southwest corner of the Fountain Block as my favorite spot. I did a bunch of hairwraps. The cards and prints were selling, and met a girl who comissioned a custom one on the spot! I have to finish Alex and Tobi's. I am really close, just have to ink the outlines. I have peer group for Project Grow tonite, and I have almost made my monthly sales goal for market with two weekends left! Happy Happy. So, to the Universe, By putting out all of the effort that I have done so far to make it happen with the gifts that I have been given, I say Thank You, and I hope that I am capable of the output that I am going to need to maintain in order to make this work to my advantage. Art takes time. I'd better use mine wisely!
