Hey Kids, Pardon my mood, Tonight is the full moon in Leo, in the first house of self, sliding into the second house of material possesions. Perhaps that is why it has been all about me and my cards. Do you find yourself focusing on things that you want, but have yet to obtain? It is being highlighted by this spotlight (Leo's LOVE the spotlight!) Tonight, I have been trying to find matching cardstock and square envelopes on line for hours now. I need four different colors-teal, gold, sage, and amethyst. There is not a card company that I could find that had these four basic colors in the same style of square envelope, except in vellum, which is see through, AND I DON'T WANT IT!!! I can't decide if it is them, or I, who is being difficult. I got the idea for the design from a card blank that I found at the art supply store. It has an insert, a gatefolded card, and a square envelope. They retail for $1.25 for the set. That is reasonable at this point. The real issue is that the company who markets these card blanks makes about 6 colors-one is the perfect sage green, which is what I used for the first one. The problem with it is that it has these little holly leaves printed on the inside of the card, and they do not go with my designs. (I covered it up on the prototype.) One is this nice butterscotchy yellow, but it is printed inside with polka dots, which compete with my designs. Their plain ones are this really ugly "shopping bag" color. They have a "lilac" which is too wishy washy, and has stripes, they have a "celery" and white, and a "baby blue" and white-which are also too pale for my grand scheme!!! RRRRRAAAAAWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I guess this is the price I must pay for being a "visionary" and thinking up things that haven't been thought up yet...No wonder so many creative people GO OFF THE DEEP END!!! Fortunately, I have been off the deep end before, and found out that I can swim...I WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!! The moon in Leo is about animal instincts. Mine are telling me to go curl up next to my own personal Leo Baboo, and my animal Tyrone (who is an Aquarius-which is where the sun is today...) too, and visualize my perfect cards in my dreams. Good Night.

I'm GROUNDED. Or maybe it is because I have not properly grounded that I allowed myself to waste an entire day feeling crappy because of a HANGOVER!!! Here I am, trying to develop a routine, trying to save money, trying to stay on track, and a simple night out with a few gal pals, for a birthday of one of us, puts me out of commision for all of Friday morning. DAMN! Here's the stupid part-it wasn't so much that I drank too much, it was that I drank too RICH!!! Red, Red Wine...and ate VERY rich food (Cafe Soriah-sheep cheese appetizer-not on the HEARTSMART list!!!) had a BFK coffee drink (with whipped cream of course) for dessert, THEN went dancing at midnight at 80's night at John Henry's. (where I realized that most of the kids were BORN about the time I was dancing to the same songs when I was in college!) I got home and felt fine, but somewhere around 5 am my body said UGH...too much to process...YOU ARE GONNA PAY!!! Of course, life does not stop because I feel crappy, so I dropped the kids off at school, went home and went back to bed to try to summon the energy to get SOMETHING done in the afternoon. The only reason I got out of bed before the kids got home was because I had my annual exam at the girlie doctor (maybe subconsciously I felt like I had to be liquored up to be put into that position...) and then, perhaps feeling like my energy vibration had been sufficiently lowered, I finally went back to McMazetlan's to drop off my keys and uniform shirts. I was not surprised that the few people that were working already knew that I had been out...there are no secrets in our little family, and like it or not, I will still be a part of it for some time to come. The day was not a total loss, there was a nice pot luck with some of my favorite people on the planet in the evening, and I delivered a surprise mandala that I created for the host. I nourished my body and soul with food and art made with love, and I enriched my life by being surrounded by really kind people. I passed on the wine...

February 11th is TYRONIUS PUPPERONIUS' birthday!!! My little pup is 1 today (or actually, I guess that makes him 7!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIGGUMS! It also happens to be the birthday of my ex's step-mother, and the birthday of a friend of mine who passed away last fall, Eddie (who was born on his mother's birthday-so happy birthday to her as well!) I wouldn't have mentioned Eddie, except that a funny thing happened to let me know that he is still keeping an eye on things down here... Eddie was the husband of one of my co-workers. He used to come in and wait for her to finish work, and have a beer at the bar, and since I was the bartender, we would talk. He knew I was interested in all things supernatural, and he would tell me about watching the show "Crossing Over" where that guy talks to the departed for his audience members. He liked that show, and we would discuss the possibilities of talking to the "Crossed Over". Well, today, HIS BIRTHDAY, I was going through some papers in my room, when I came across his memorial "pamphlet" with his picture on it, and a poem written by one of his daughters. I hadn't seen it since just after the funeral in October. I don't even know why it was in this particular spot, and it was just because I have been this super white tornado cleaning lady lately (trying to maximize efficiency) that I even found it. I know it was a gentle reminder for me not to forget what day it was!!! As well as to remember-the possibilities...

My Funny Valentine

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Valentine Contest at the Art Supply store. It is one of the easiest contests to enter-The work cannot be larger than 8 1/2x11, or more than three inches deep. It has to be dropped off by the 10th, and the categories are public favorite, and store employee's favorite. The prize in each category is a $50 gift certificate. There is no entry fee. Perfect. I don't have any reason to believe that I will win this little contest. I just think it is a good thing for me to do to keep in the loop. It's all about exposure, and the opportunity to challenge myself, and to honor a deadline. I decided to make a Valentine. I have been making these sweet little freeform faeries for weeks, I figured I could come up with something quick and painless-RIGHT!!! My Valentine shot me in the heart! First, pull out arsenal of pretty papers. Second, pull out paint. Third, "artfully" tear shapes out of paper (hearts, wings, flames, the standard Valentine fare...) Fourth, start gluing stuff down, search newspapers for words "To My Valentine" (actually-I came up with "Take another little PEACE of my Heart"-aaaawwwwwww........) Glue some more, paint, glitter...AGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! The whole thing reminds me of the semester that I took a 100 level course "as a blow off". I figured it was going to be SO easy, I would just breeze through it. It was the only "F" I got in any college course-and I deserved it. My Valentine is really only a "D-". It's got some good ideas-the problem is that it has a lot of ideas, all at once. It's overwhelming in it's cry for attention. Today, I will simplify it's content, and get to the "heart" of the matter. (I should probably reflect on how to do that in other areas of my life:)I will redesign it to reflect one simple sentiment. I will finish it on time. Most importantly-by dropping it off tomorrow, I will have achieved a small but important personal goal. Hooray. Don't forget to put one foot in front of the other today.

Good Morning MY Little Pretties!! I am feeling really good about this little cigar box purse that is coming together quite nicely. Thing 2's Babette's Mama (Kelly) gave me a fancy sparkly silver cigar box, and a cedar one with the word HAVANA on the front of it-They are beautiful. She also bestowed unto me, a glitter kit with these REALLY SWEET extra fine, deep colored glitters, and some little glass mosaic pieces that she had laying around!!! This is bliss for me. I can feel the part of me that is part CROW-the part that is enamored with collecting all forms of trinkets to use in my nest. Native peoples viewed the Crow as a symbolic link between humanity and the environment. Crow are social, and work best as a group, and are happiest within the security of an organization. Crow and Raven were associated with Magik, which is simply bringing creative thought into physical reality. I guess, looking at this, I am more Crow than I know!!! My task for today is to bring three sets of bookshelves out of the studio, and into the living room, which seems like such a natural spot for them, I can't believe I didn't think of this AGES AGO! Then I am going to do a hairwrap (WHEE!!!)for my friend Fleesh, and continue my quest to rid this house of all things clutter, so that I can begin collecting shiny objects, and crafty odds and ends in an orderly manner! (PRAY FOR ME!!!) Then tonight I will finish the silver box purse, and start another! (found two more of the basket purses...LUCKY ME!) Don't forget to have some fun today!

Click-Click. I went to the community college today to have the volunteer tax preparers from the AARP e-file my taxes. This is a BIG step forward. When we were talking about me quitting the Caballero Cafe, my sister (who is NAMED after a bird-yes, Looney-you know who you are...) says to "take the leap and build your wings on the way down." My tax return is a nice little updraft under my wings, as well as a nice feathering to hold my nest egg. I am fighting the urge to take a celebratory nap. I feel like I must keep on task, but I am so relieved to have this done, I bet I'd have some AWESOME dreams!---Let's go see-(I'll let you know)

WOW. I just had one of those weekends that never seemed to end. The boys didn't have school Friday and my Party Boy (Thing 2)had kids over all weekend to celebrate his birthday (Thing 1 was smart enough to steer clear and slept away). It was a pizza and videofest, and it was rambunctious even when they were sleeping. There were at one point, about 13 kids up in their hideaway, and it was non stop chatter. It is so nice and quiet here right now, but my brain is still spinning from trying to keep track of what everyone was doing, and what they were not supposed to be doing, and how much food they had, and WHERE ARE ALL OF MY FORKS!?! There were enough electronic devices to power a small village, PSPs, XBoxes, GameCubes, two T.V.'s a laptop, an untold number of mp3 players and cell phones, a stereo, and two mobile house phones. While there were 13 people at the party, who knows how many joined the celebration via the phonelines!!! This morning I am meditating on simplicity. I am thankful for tea, peanut butter and honey on toast, a sunshiny morning, and a Venus/Jupiter/Uranus trine aspect bringing Luck and Harmony in the areas of Love, Luck and Discovery!!! I hope that this means I will DISCOVER a couple of nice little tax deductions as I am filing the paperwork today!!! May you Discover Luck and Love in all that you do as well...OOMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Milestone Moment-I just checked my direct deposit of what is MY LAST PAYCHECK from the Vaca del Dinero (hopefully that says "CASH COW" and not something derogatory about mothers...) Usually my Capricorn miser brain is freaking out about when I will make enough money to pay the next bill (the addictive part of restaurant work is "pick up a shift!"-the money fix) Add to the stressers the fact that my son turns 15 tomorrow, and a large portion of the money that I should be doling out sparingly will be used to have a pizza party for about 12 teenaged (mostly) boys!!! This should be the incentive that I need to make filing my taxes a priority-FOOD IS GOOD TO HAVE AROUND! I posted the pictures of the purses yesterday, and have already had two seperate offers, unfortunately, while I know I could use the money, I am trying to get a dozen or so finished so that when I take them in to show shop owners, they will see that I am SERIOUS!!! I must be patient-AND WORK-WORK-WORK!!! I did some work on a MERMAID one last night-should be finished tonight...WAIT TILL THEY GET A LOAD OF ME!!! (where's the shovel!) The planet Venus goes direct today after a long period of reflection. The universe is saying "Take a good look at what areas in your life are not bringing you love...now figure out how to remove them from your path". What do you see yourself doing when there is nothing left that you HAVE to do?

If the Groundhog had lived in Oregon, he'd not have seen his shadow, and Spring would be Springing right now. Here it is dark and timeless today-after a really pretty sunny day yesterday-one of the 6 or so we are allotted between December and May here in the Willamette Valley-(like "Dammit"-not like if we were back in Wisconsin, where it would be will-a-METTE named after a French guy in beaver Moccasins). I actually like the winters here. I get a lot more done when I am not tempted to go out to the Woods, or the Mountains, or the Rivers, Or the Deserts, or the Ski Slopes, or the many other FUN things you can do for a relatively small price here in the great Northwest. Getting pretty close to whale watching time... I added some pics to my photo album. I had to show you all what the hub-bub is all about-My purses ROCK!!! Take a peek. I might poke my head out into the real world for a moment this afternoon, but I don't know if that will be necessary. I can just hang out here in my creative cocoon in la-la land. There are people all over the world meditating at this very moment in order to raise the vibration of this planet. In order to counteract all of the violence going on, they need all the help they can get. It is part of my mission to help them by helping myself, and those who come into contact with me. Knowing that everything I do to resolve discord adds to the higher frequency of our souls, I resolve to finally get to the bottom of the sock box today!!!(OH-It truly is a GLAMOROUS life) FLOAT ON!! O.K.?

Today was day three in the great self employed experiment. I was AWESOME! I got up before the alarm usually goes off in the morning, (and I actually had an extra hour to sleep in today.) Baboo took the kids to school, and I cleaned the hair out of the living room while Ty-baby got his excersize at the dog park like he does every morning. P.S. Don't get between the Biggums and his FRISSSSSSSSSS...He's got dibs!!! I went to the ceramics class on Monday and Tuesday this week, and reconstituted some clay. I keep thinking I am saving the earth one bag of clay at a time. I have made it a point to make things at least a little better than I found them. I take my cart back into the store when I shop for groceries. I take things to Goodwill, and buy things from Goodwill. I clean up after myself, and I take care of others. I try to make this world better by being self sufficient... Yesterday, I finished one of the seven purses that I got on my Capricorn shopping trip last week, and also got about 3/4 of the way through another! If I can't make my money back on the one I completed, then I am going to have to go back to the Mesa de Masa, and I am tring everything in my power to make that not happen again. If it comes down to sink, or swim, I know that I am pretty fluent in the backstroke. I just hope not to get to that point. I'd like to SKATE AWAY...Hi Ho SILVER...Wish Me Luck.
