Pisces New Moon

Good Monday my dears. It is the morning of the new moon in Pisces-one of the dreamiest of the year. It is the moon of the Big Winds. It is the time that water starts to run again, after the winter freezes. It is a time of shifting, changing motion. It is the Blustery Winds Time-the time of the Wolf. I had very vivid dreams about packing boxes and cleaning attics in a big house on a snow covered mountain. Then I was swimming in a wetsuit with Baboo who was showing me the sights of another mountainous winter landscape-seemed like Seattle, or even further north-like Alaska. Then I was talking to a woman about these whale fetishes, and I realized that it was about taking care of the pod. The pod is only as strong as it's weakest member...we need to be helping each other out. This is a time of quick change, and atmospheric turbulence. This week, on Thursday the 2nd, the planet mercury goes retrograde. For those of you who are new at this, Mercury rero is a slowing down period for travel and communication. It is important in the next three weeks to doublecheck your doublecheck. Things might take a little while longer than usual, and add the planet Uranus to the mix on the 5th, moving into Aquarius-it's home, and expect the unexpected. It may seem like all progress is slower than anticipated, and just when you are about to give up on something, it falls together. This is a time when your ability to breathe and meditate on your goal is really challenged, and brought to a new level. REMEMBER TO BREATHE. Oh-yah-the more things you can get taken care of before Thursday, the easier this transit will be...get to work.

Can't believe it's Thursday already. I guess that's what happens when you are drunk from the spoils of tax season. Yes, I got my return last Friday, and this is the time of year that I get to shop for the little things on the list that I just can't slip out of my regular earnings. (especially since right now I do not have "regular earnings") You know, food, oil changes, new tires...woohoo. I know how to live it up! This was also a short week-President's Day means no school, and it is definately harder to get to the computer when Thing 1 and Thing 2 are around. Not to mention the phone-(why do I have to go fish it out of Thing 2's side of the room ("minefield")at least once a day?) It sure is nice that they are held captive most of the week. This week hasn't all been madness and mayhem. I went to the Business Development Center, and I finished a requirement for my grant on Tuesday. I moved forward with my business plan, and yesterday I finished all eleven of the rest of the new zodiac card designs (Capricorn was already done), and I COULDN'T BE MORE THRILLED!!! I can now go find a printer to produce them! I must admit, I am a little hesitant, because I know that my design is kind of demanding. I have some really bold cardstock color choices, and some of the techinical requirements may be difficult, I am willing to rearrange things as need be to make it work as close to my vision as possible. They are very colorful, and I like it that way! Because I am not very familiar with the technical demands of the priting process, I have it built up in my head to be a monster...I just have to go out and interview printers! Piece of cake. I was able to put in an hour in the ceramics studio this morning, and made a nice little pinch pot-Today was the first day that the kids got to work with clay. I am doing an example of each type of pot along with the kids. I think I am going to make three more just like the one I just did, and do a series of mandalas on the inside...I love my job! It's pretty sweet to volunteer and have a clay studio that I don't have to pay for. I feel like I could definately use that to my advanatage (you know, because I need a hobby...) Tomorrow I am going to learn how to program their new computer kiln firing system. Today-BUSINESS PLAN. Tonight I have volunteered to (wo)-man the phones for Planeed Parenthood. I would love to be able to help organizations like these out with money, but even with money, these places still need people who will get out there and get the word out. Schools are always looking for people to come in and help. It's like the bumper sticker says "Be in the world what you want to see in the world." I see-eeeee...London, I see France...I see teeeeeeeheeeeeeeee.

Aahhhhh...Hi children! I hope you are all well headed into the weekend. It's been a social couple of days for me. The moon has been in Libra, and it's the sign of partnerships. My little Capricorn work-a-holic gets a little nervous when I take any time out for fun right now, but my Sagittarius moon, mercury, and venus, know that business is all about networking so to my Capricorn Sun-the Archer says "CHILL OUT, YOU OLD GOAT!!!" This weekend should be an interesting mix of emotion. The moon moves into Scorpio, which can be deep and broody, the sun moves into Pisces which is deep and dreamy. The next couple of days, or more likely, nights, are all about dreaming and feeling. These water signs are a terrific pair for getting to the depths of the subconscious. The sun's transit of Pisces is the last month of winter. If you remember what was taking place in the fall,(have you been doing your homework?) and what ideas you had for what you were going to make happen this spring-this is the time where those things get ready to blossom. This is like the part of a pregnancy where the baby "drops" into the position for delivery. You have the next four weeks to prepare for the care and feeding of your new project of the year. A good way to help you find out what year this is for you is to add up the birthdate of your last birthday. i.e. for me the number is 12+31+2005=2048, then add those numbers (2+0+4+8=14), then, if it is a two digit number add it again (1+4=5) If you add up to: 1=the Magician-the year of YOU making it happen. if YOU do not take charge this year, you could find yourself spinning your wheels. 2=the High Priestess-use your INTUITION this year. It is a time for acting on your hunches, and listening to those little "voices". 3=the Empress-this is a year for letting things grow naturally. The Empress is like a pregnant woman. The feeling of this year is "All good things in all good time." 4=the Emperor-the Emporor is in charge. This is a good time to seek the help of people who can back you up-A good time for finding investors in your ideas. 5=the Heirophant-This year of BELIEF-you've got to believe to achieve. Go with what you can believe in. 6=the Lovers-This is pretty obvious-Do what you love. This is a good time for partnerships and commitments. 7=the Chariot-Ride the wave-this is a year for capitalizing on your LEADERSHIP skills. Use this time to challenge your boundries. 8=Justice=This is a good year for making things right. This might be a time where things that have been pending in your life begin to be decided. This is a good year to sign contracts, and enter into legal agreements. 9=the Hermit-The Hermit goes out to learn, comes in to integrate, and comes back out to teach. This is a year where you can use your TEACHING skills to help others. Share your knowledge, be the light for others to follow. 10=Wheel of Fortune=Round and round she goes- The wheel year is a year for TAKING CHANCES. I am finally making progress on a business plan to be proud of and am swerving through the last few curves on the slalom course of my IDA mountain. I was going to present it in the morning, but I still need a few more hours than I have left in me today. I am sure that I can have it done by Monday, and that should be just fine. For those of you who miss my sarcastic wit and lunar lunacy, I assure you that it is alive and well, however it has been important that I keep those attributes (voices) bottled up like a genie-lest my business plan read something like this: Dragonfly Mandala Studio Michelle M. Crisanti-Sorceress At Dragonfly Mandala Studio it is my main goal in life to add to the world a line of the most amazing art that I can possibly create, to educate the masses in the art of having fun loving what they do everyday, and how to avoid getting stressed out about things that don't really matter (height, weight, shoe size...traffic). I strive to create harmony and balance in all areas of my life and business to keep from having to sell my soul to "the man" in an effort to keep food in my belly (and the bellies of Babboo, Tyrone, Thing One and Thing Two...) and a roof over my head. Please give me my grant. AMEN. Everything is going to be fine...wonder if I will have to have by belly rubbed to uncork the Genie(s)...Couldn't hurt to try!!!

Monday. Hmmm. Just in case you are out there thinking about how blissful and perfect your life would be if you could have your dream job, let me be the first to tell you that it is STILL A JOB!!! And for all of the people who keep saying to me "But you don't have to work!" I say...keep reading! Went into the Ceramics class today and did a show and tell of my clay work to the kids who are starting their first semester. I got a taste of what it is like to try to make teenagers enthusiastic about anything at 8am on a Monday. I felt like the teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off-"Bueller...Bueller..." WOW-I still think it would be rewarding to teach. I got back home to work on my BIG GOAL for the week-BUSINESS PLAN-submit final draft by Friday for review. Exciting. I have a really good example of a plan submitted by one of the companies that have successfully completed their program. I set it aside so that I could refer to it when I was having difficulties with mine. I went to get it this morning when I sat down to work, and what do you know I COULDN'T FIND IT!!! I spent most of the weekend cleaning and reorganizing, and apparently I put it in one of those SPECIAL places, where I would(n't!) be able to locate it easily. SMOOTH! While this was a little frustrating, and I spent some time looking for it, and wondering if maybe I was self-sabotaging, I didn't allow it to stop me from working on the things that I could do without it, and I got a couple of hours in on my draft. AAAAHHHHHHHH!!! (that was relief-not the other kind of AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!) Now hopefully tonight, along with the perfect envelopes, I will be able to visualize WHERE MY SECRET HIDING SPOT IS!!! (It's always something!)

Hey Kids, Pardon my mood, Tonight is the full moon in Leo, in the first house of self, sliding into the second house of material possesions. Perhaps that is why it has been all about me and my cards. Do you find yourself focusing on things that you want, but have yet to obtain? It is being highlighted by this spotlight (Leo's LOVE the spotlight!) Tonight, I have been trying to find matching cardstock and square envelopes on line for hours now. I need four different colors-teal, gold, sage, and amethyst. There is not a card company that I could find that had these four basic colors in the same style of square envelope, except in vellum, which is see through, AND I DON'T WANT IT!!! I can't decide if it is them, or I, who is being difficult. I got the idea for the design from a card blank that I found at the art supply store. It has an insert, a gatefolded card, and a square envelope. They retail for $1.25 for the set. That is reasonable at this point. The real issue is that the company who markets these card blanks makes about 6 colors-one is the perfect sage green, which is what I used for the first one. The problem with it is that it has these little holly leaves printed on the inside of the card, and they do not go with my designs. (I covered it up on the prototype.) One is this nice butterscotchy yellow, but it is printed inside with polka dots, which compete with my designs. Their plain ones are this really ugly "shopping bag" color. They have a "lilac" which is too wishy washy, and has stripes, they have a "celery" and white, and a "baby blue" and white-which are also too pale for my grand scheme!!! RRRRRAAAAAWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I guess this is the price I must pay for being a "visionary" and thinking up things that haven't been thought up yet...No wonder so many creative people GO OFF THE DEEP END!!! Fortunately, I have been off the deep end before, and found out that I can swim...I WILL FIND A WAY TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!! The moon in Leo is about animal instincts. Mine are telling me to go curl up next to my own personal Leo Baboo, and my animal Tyrone (who is an Aquarius-which is where the sun is today...) too, and visualize my perfect cards in my dreams. Good Night.

I'm GROUNDED. Or maybe it is because I have not properly grounded that I allowed myself to waste an entire day feeling crappy because of a HANGOVER!!! Here I am, trying to develop a routine, trying to save money, trying to stay on track, and a simple night out with a few gal pals, for a birthday of one of us, puts me out of commision for all of Friday morning. DAMN! Here's the stupid part-it wasn't so much that I drank too much, it was that I drank too RICH!!! Red, Red Wine...and ate VERY rich food (Cafe Soriah-sheep cheese appetizer-not on the HEARTSMART list!!!) had a BFK coffee drink (with whipped cream of course) for dessert, THEN went dancing at midnight at 80's night at John Henry's. (where I realized that most of the kids were BORN about the time I was dancing to the same songs when I was in college!) I got home and felt fine, but somewhere around 5 am my body said UGH...too much to process...YOU ARE GONNA PAY!!! Of course, life does not stop because I feel crappy, so I dropped the kids off at school, went home and went back to bed to try to summon the energy to get SOMETHING done in the afternoon. The only reason I got out of bed before the kids got home was because I had my annual exam at the girlie doctor (maybe subconsciously I felt like I had to be liquored up to be put into that position...) and then, perhaps feeling like my energy vibration had been sufficiently lowered, I finally went back to McMazetlan's to drop off my keys and uniform shirts. I was not surprised that the few people that were working already knew that I had been out...there are no secrets in our little family, and like it or not, I will still be a part of it for some time to come. The day was not a total loss, there was a nice pot luck with some of my favorite people on the planet in the evening, and I delivered a surprise mandala that I created for the host. I nourished my body and soul with food and art made with love, and I enriched my life by being surrounded by really kind people. I passed on the wine...

February 11th is TYRONIUS PUPPERONIUS' birthday!!! My little pup is 1 today (or actually, I guess that makes him 7!) HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BIGGUMS! It also happens to be the birthday of my ex's step-mother, and the birthday of a friend of mine who passed away last fall, Eddie (who was born on his mother's birthday-so happy birthday to her as well!) I wouldn't have mentioned Eddie, except that a funny thing happened to let me know that he is still keeping an eye on things down here... Eddie was the husband of one of my co-workers. He used to come in and wait for her to finish work, and have a beer at the bar, and since I was the bartender, we would talk. He knew I was interested in all things supernatural, and he would tell me about watching the show "Crossing Over" where that guy talks to the departed for his audience members. He liked that show, and we would discuss the possibilities of talking to the "Crossed Over". Well, today, HIS BIRTHDAY, I was going through some papers in my room, when I came across his memorial "pamphlet" with his picture on it, and a poem written by one of his daughters. I hadn't seen it since just after the funeral in October. I don't even know why it was in this particular spot, and it was just because I have been this super white tornado cleaning lady lately (trying to maximize efficiency) that I even found it. I know it was a gentle reminder for me not to forget what day it was!!! As well as to remember-the possibilities...

Tomorrow is the deadline for the Valentine Contest at the Art Supply store. It is one of the easiest contests to enter-The work cannot be larger than 8 1/2x11, or more than three inches deep. It has to be dropped off by the 10th, and the categories are public favorite, and store employee's favorite. The prize in each category is a $50 gift certificate. There is no entry fee. Perfect. I don't have any reason to believe that I will win this little contest. I just think it is a good thing for me to do to keep in the loop. It's all about exposure, and the opportunity to challenge myself, and to honor a deadline. I decided to make a Valentine. I have been making these sweet little freeform faeries for weeks, I figured I could come up with something quick and painless-RIGHT!!! My Valentine shot me in the heart! First, pull out arsenal of pretty papers. Second, pull out paint. Third, "artfully" tear shapes out of paper (hearts, wings, flames, the standard Valentine fare...) Fourth, start gluing stuff down, search newspapers for words "To My Valentine" (actually-I came up with "Take another little PEACE of my Heart"-aaaawwwwwww........) Glue some more, paint, glitter...AGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! The whole thing reminds me of the semester that I took a 100 level course "as a blow off". I figured it was going to be SO easy, I would just breeze through it. It was the only "F" I got in any college course-and I deserved it. My Valentine is really only a "D-". It's got some good ideas-the problem is that it has a lot of ideas, all at once. It's overwhelming in it's cry for attention. Today, I will simplify it's content, and get to the "heart" of the matter. (I should probably reflect on how to do that in other areas of my life:)I will redesign it to reflect one simple sentiment. I will finish it on time. Most importantly-by dropping it off tomorrow, I will have achieved a small but important personal goal. Hooray. Don't forget to put one foot in front of the other today.

Good Morning MY Little Pretties!! I am feeling really good about this little cigar box purse that is coming together quite nicely. Thing 2's Babette's Mama (Kelly) gave me a fancy sparkly silver cigar box, and a cedar one with the word HAVANA on the front of it-They are beautiful. She also bestowed unto me, a glitter kit with these REALLY SWEET extra fine, deep colored glitters, and some little glass mosaic pieces that she had laying around!!! This is bliss for me. I can feel the part of me that is part CROW-the part that is enamored with collecting all forms of trinkets to use in my nest. Native peoples viewed the Crow as a symbolic link between humanity and the environment. Crow are social, and work best as a group, and are happiest within the security of an organization. Crow and Raven were associated with Magik, which is simply bringing creative thought into physical reality. I guess, looking at this, I am more Crow than I know!!! My task for today is to bring three sets of bookshelves out of the studio, and into the living room, which seems like such a natural spot for them, I can't believe I didn't think of this AGES AGO! Then I am going to do a hairwrap (WHEE!!!)for my friend Fleesh, and continue my quest to rid this house of all things clutter, so that I can begin collecting shiny objects, and crafty odds and ends in an orderly manner! (PRAY FOR ME!!!) Then tonight I will finish the silver box purse, and start another! (found two more of the basket purses...LUCKY ME!) Don't forget to have some fun today!
