Feasability
Mood:  not sure
Now Playing: Stand-REM
Topic: Business Plan
I'm working on a business plan for the mandalas. The microbusiness classes are really making me think about what it takes to sell the product. There is a couple in my microbusiness group who have a tool that I can't believe has not been created long before. It seems indispensable in their business and it seems to me that once it catches on, they will be sitting pretty. I have a card. I have a set of cards. Doesn't everyone? UGH!@!! These are the thoughts that are so self defeating. They are the poison that keeps me thinking that maybe I am not worthy. I have had far too much life experience that is to the contrary. I guess that I refuse to believe that in some way I am not special. Oh just wait. I have so much to say, so many stories tell. I just don't know where to start
Only because there are so many BEGINNINGS!!!
stay tuned...

One is the Lonliest Number
Mood:  vegas lucky
Now Playing: Life During War Time-The Talking Heads
Topic: Poor Boris
Poor Boris is no more-us,
Lucky Seven reigns supreme.
When it comes to shower spiders,
Lucky is the Queen!!!
I'm not really sure what Boris's fate actually was. Did Lucky chase him off, chew him out, spit him up? Whatever, he's not inhabiting that corner of the world anymore.
It must be Lucky Seven's day. Well, it IS the 7th of Feb. When I took Dylan to Wendy's for baked potatoes and frostys after hockey, our bill totalled $7.77. I don't feel the need to run out and buy a lottery ticket or anything (lottery is a tax on people who can't do math!) but I always love patterns when I recognize them-even the most trivial randomness gives me an excuse to have a laugh. Feel free to join me!

Lucky 7's New Roomate
Mood:  quizzical
Now Playing: Boris the Spider-The Who
Topic: Creepy-Crawly
I'm standing there brushing my teeth. I look in the mirror and see Lucky 7 in the corner as usual. I notice that Lucky 7 isn't alone! There is another spider up there near by. I'm not sure if they are just hanging out, posturing for turf, or if Lucky 7 will get that way. Ordinarily, this wouldn't even merit a journal entry, however, as I am brushing my teeth, thinking about the possibilities, I turn on the radio-the song?...You guessed it-Boris the Spider!!! I guess that takes care of the naming it part!
I LOVE THIS GAME !!!!

Super Bowl Sunday
Mood:  cool
Now Playing: Shine On You Crazy Diamond-Pink Floyd
Topic: VACATION CALLS!!
Super Bowl Sunday. Historically one of the slowest days of the year at the Tostada del Toro. The Patriots beat the Eagles pretty much as expected.
After yesterday's birthday blowout around here I was kind of glad to have some down time! I had to go to work to get some rest.
My attention keeps being drawn to the Hermit. It is my key tarot card, and it is the card of the teacher. It represents Lonliness and/or Solitude. These are two sides of the same coin. It is based on perspective. When you feel lonliness it is based on the desire for company. When you experience Solitude you have found a place where you make use of the lack of company. Yesterday, while there were 13 teenagers banging around upstairs, I was able to spend some time working on the website and plotting and scheming about the next few steps up my mountainside. I was able to know that everyone here was taken care of and entertained. I was able to let myself get caught up in the rapture of doing what I love-working on Mandalas! I feel the need to take a week and just completly be able to do whatever I want to do. I assure you that I would be able to really make the most of it. I'm not sure who I am trying to convince, but I think I'd better get to making it happen! My mantra for the week "I will take some time off from the Taco Hole."

The Things Girls Do For Boys
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: We Don't Need No Education-KORN
Topic: Punk Kids
Dylan had a birthday party today. I had 10 boys and 3 girls at the ice arena. Dylan and Trevor have been skating for about 4 years now, but it's not something a lot of other kids so around here. It doesn't get cold enough long enough to freeze any ponds or lakes so you have to go to the arena. The good part is that we have ice all year round and can choose whether or not we want to go to it! This is what they get for having a mom from Wisconsin and her honey from Canada around. One girl wore fishnet stockings, a "Ramone's" bandana skirt and a little tiny tank top-TO ICE SKATE!!!(naturally , when she wasn't in skates she had pink and black "Chuck Taylor" hi-top Converse shoes.) She was a trooper. I'd have frozen solid-I guess all of the heat involved with the pitter-patter of following boys evened things out.

Oh yeah, I forgot!
Mood:  party time!
Now Playing: Stella Blue-the Grateful Dead
Topic: Golden Children
I was going to talk about thee whole Golden Birthday thing, but my friend Fleesh-EEE showed up and we went to what is now my personal favorite restaurant in Eugene, The Laughing Planet. I'm still full because I couldn't stop eating it! (ps-it's well within my meager budget as well which makes it a double bonus!)
Let's get back to the biz-The story goes that when your birthday age matches the date of your birthday then it is a "golden birthday." It just so happened that the year 1995 found Dylan turning 4 on February 4-Trevor turned 6 on September 6-and I turned 31 on December 31. That is also the year that I was 30-the Grateful Dead was celebrating their 30th year as well, and there were shirts and stickers with a line from a song called Stella Blue.
"all the years combine, they melt into a dream."under the lyrics were the dates 1965-1995. Since my birthday is December 31, 1964-this was my entire life span. When I would see them go by I kept saying " AAAAAAGH!! It's my life flashing(back?)before my eyes! Of course that was also the last tour that Jerry made it through. We'll go there later as well. Are you on the bus, or off the bus? (your rocker?) (the beaten path?)...

Happy Birthday, DYLAN!!!
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Happy Birthday-the Beatles
Topic: Golden Children
DYLAN is 14! (shfourteen-teen to fans of shifty-five-we can go there later)Dylan was born in Normal,Il, and so was his brother Trevor, so I can honestly say that I have Normal Children! Are you getting a sense of the great cosmic jokes at play here? The Further you go, the Round(about)er you get!
Dylan is an Aquarius-the waterbearer. I tease my Aquarian friends that they take longer to figure things out because they are waterbearing AIR signs. Really, most of them have it figured out pretty early-it takes the rest of us a while to figure them out because they are definately unique!
Dylan was born on the "the day of the Curveballer". The meditation for this day is "once the ball is in the air, almost anything can happen!"
People born on this day have their own personal system that can confuse and mystify the rest of us, especially when they pull off the impossible at the last minute. Dylan is very serious-one of the first things he learned to say was "don't laugh at me!" We're still working on that-with a mother like me!

One Week
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: It's All Been Done-Bare Naked Ladies
Topic: Long Day
It's been One Week since I began this little venture. I used lyrics from the song "One Week" in the first blog entry, and guess what song I heard first thing this morning! I SWEAR THIS IS TRUE!!!
My son turned on the radio to take his shower and THERE IT WAS! This happens to me so often that my friends at my old job called it a "Crisanti Moment", but like I said yesterday, I can't help but get a giggle out of it.
As if this week hasn't been exciting enough with the groundhog action, tomorrow (actually, later today at this late hour!)is my youngest son Dylan's 14th birthday! I know what you are thinking, "how can someone so hip and cool be old enough to have sons that are 14 and 15?" oh yeah and "WOW she doesn't look a day over 54!" (WHAT?) But ALAS, it is so, time does march on. In my next entry, I will tell you the story of our Golden Birthdays! (I know you can hardly wait, but remember-Patience is a Virtue-it may be the only one you have left!)

Punxsutawney Phil
Mood:  lyrical
Now Playing: Touch of Grey-the Grateful Dead
Topic: Magic in the Airwaves
I had an absolutely magical day with the radio today. I have this thing for holidays, even the most "trivial" is great fun for me. My first and foremost favorite is April Fool's Day, which we will cover at great length over the course of these ramblings, but I'll leave alone for now.
Last night, at Casa de Enchilada, we were discussing Groundhog Day. One of "my people" said that it was great because it meant nothing. He said that he never worked on that day. I told the story my Groundhog Day 1995. I was planning my Grateful Dead Spring Tour for that year and I sent handmade Groundhog Day cards to my friends that I was anticipating meeting up with. The cards had a Groundhog bouncing out of a hole on the front (go figure!) and said "Is it Spring Yet?" Inside it said "Cuz I'm ready for TOUR!" This morning when I woke up, I was laying there thinking about it again, and started drifting into thoughts about Tour, the Dead, my "Family", etc...when reality hit and I realized that I had to get ready for work. I went into the bathroom, turned on the radio, just in time for them to answer the question that I had asked last nite (about what the shadow means-6 more weeks of winter) and right after play "Touch of Grey" by none other than the aforementioned Grateful Dead! Once upon a time this would have amazed me. I still get a giggle out of it every time (which is ALL the time) I now recognize it as a part of my connection to source.
As my day went on there were many other reminders that I was in the flow. One other one happened this afternoon at work. I had been thinking about writing about my morning and wondering how to spell Punxsutawney when I had to get something from the office. The radio was on in there and I heard the DJ ask people to call in and spell it to win a prize! There were about 5 wrong answers, (enough for me to have grabbed a pen and notepaper) and a guy spelled it out for me! He might have won the prize, but I was just as thrilled! I LOVE THIS GAME!

Groundhog Eve
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: And She Was-The Talking Heads
Topic: Is spring sprung?
OOH, I can hardly wait! The anticipation! The excitement! The suspense! Will the groundhog see it's shadow tomorrow? Will there be six more weeks of winter, or is spring on it's way? Did we even have winter here in the Pacific Northwest or will we have the best skiing of the season in June? Global Warming? acid rain? UFO? U of O? Giant weather experiment from the government? How will I sleep knowing that the answer to these questions lies in the shadow of what is obviously one of God's chosen creatures. The biggest question that will be weighing on my mind tonight as I lie there weaving in and out of dreamland is...Does anyone remember if spring comes WHEN he sees his shadow or when he DOESN'T!
