Time MARCHes On
Mood:
quizzical
Now Playing: Turn, Turn, Turn-The Byrds
Topic: (rabbit,rabbit)
Is this the place where I make my wise predictions for the month to come? Or should this be where I print my confessions. Where I go to purge deep and dark thoughts and actions. Could I maybe print answers to letters sent to me by the ever more unsatisfied public?
What might my answer be? In the form of a question like on Jeopardy? Who knows (the shadow?) Today, nothing stands out as extraordinary.
March that comes in like a lamb, goes out like a lion. This month is the moon of Big Winds month. Water becomes unfrozen, starts to run again. Storms roll in and breathe life into the earth. Energy moves to the trees. Season's cycle, seeds are awakened.
Right now I am planting the seeds for Saturday Market. Like the old saying goes, neither rain, nor sleet...etc. My booth is built(Thanks to a really good baboo and friend). Tomorrow I plan on painting it. (another day in paradise!) See you!

The Oscars
Mood:
suave
Now Playing: Games Without Frontiers-Peter Gabriel
Topic: And the Winner Is...
I'm not necessarily hip to what's happening in Hollywood for the most part. Things around my little world have been pretty much enough to keep me busy. Today was kind of a break from the action. Seems like everyone is recovering from full-moon fever. (some worse than others). The soap opera at All My Enchiladas has been pretty dramatic this week, complete with corporate takeovers, life-threatening illnesses, lover's quarrels, drug addictions, car wrecks and assorted minor disturbances too numerous to mention. Like sand in your underwear, THESE are the Dias De La VIDA!!!(or something like that.)

Saturday Market
Mood:
spacey
Now Playing: Stand (in the place where you work)-R.E.M.
Topic: Work Work Work
There's a fear I have about making my art business my only job. That it might feel a whole lot like WORK. Seems like I've been spending an awful lot of time doing administrative tasks. Not a whole lot of creating getting done.
Today me and my handyman went to the local, large, log-o-rama, lumberyard to get the materials for my booth. It's getting more and more near. I still have so much work to do! I solemnly swear that by the end of this week, I will have an 8x8 standard Saturday Market booth buillt and painted with a gloss black finish!!!
The moon is in Libra which means that we are judging our own actions. I was reminded this week just how powerful the truth can be. The difficulty with the truth is that it is not always what we want to hear. It is essential for the health of outr 5th chakra.
The 5th chakra is the energy center for the throat. The color of the throat chakra is blue. The spoken word is the beginning of making it happen. When you voice an idea or an opinion it opens it up for discussion. Ideas that carry no weight, gossip, lies, etc... are easily disposed of. When the truth is spoken it resonates with the chakra and harmony is created. When you "walk your talk" you gain respect, you accomplish your goals, you follow your dreams (which is how this all got started in the first place!)
I will make it happen, I will make it happen...

Cirque de Roger
Mood:
silly
Now Playing: Rio-Duran Duran
Topic: Send in the Clowns
The last couple of days have kind of blended themselves into each other and become a timeless and nebulous blob of memory.
The circus came to town in the form of one of my honey's old performing partners and his travel associate/troupemate. They are a part of a program called "Clowns Without Borders." Rudy is a Vaudevillian style physical performer. "Emma Del Emma" (say it quickly a couple of times)is a dancer and physical comedienne. I suspect within her is also a singer just waiting to find her voice. They went to Nepal and Tibet and traveled to orphanages and refugee camps to entertain children who really have no form of outside entertainment. Most of them are living under some very difficult circumstances. They were excited and jostled around trying to get as close as they could to the entertainers. The video is touching and heartfelt.
I would like to have the opportunity to leave that kind of impression on people through art.

Time For Nite-nite
Mood:
smelly
Now Playing: Gimme Shelter-the Rolling Stones
Topic: Alternate Reality
Sometimes I push my limits to see how far they will go. I seize opportunities to make myself feel like I am really accomplishing things. And, guess what-I AM! That's been my MO for the last couple of weeks, and they have been action packed! I like to get to that place where I am on the brink of sleep-and let my mind out to play. Looks like I made it to the edge! I used to wonder if I pushed myself over, would I be able to pull myself back up? Now I know that I don't have to-this side has it's merits!
This week is tidying things up for me in a big way. The big change we have been holding our breath for at Mike's House of Mariachi has happened, and now after a deep exhale we have the opportunity to whisper and conspire once again. OOOOHHHHHHH!!! We're scrambling for position at the hen house.

Dylan's Concert MOJO
Mood:
happy
Now Playing: I Wanna Rock and Roll All Night-KISS
Topic: Papa Roach
My youngest son, who just turned 14 (schforteen-teen)on the 4th of this month, went to see Papa Roach tonite at the MacDonald Theatre downtown. This kid has got some sort of good concert karma. I swear, every time he goes there to see someone he ends up meeting the band, getting autographs, crowd surfing (he's the perfect size for it!), the whole enchilada. (no, did I just say that?)
Tonight he went with his friend Brave Bear (really his name). (The same kid that he spent a large amount of his three day weekend working on a science fair project with. The project-coincidently (?) was to follow written instructions and draw-you guessed it-A ROACH.)
Anyway-during the opening act, he went out to the lobby and a guy complimented his t shirt (Kurt Cobain /Nirvana) They start talking-the guy is the drummer's brother-the kid gets to go out to the bus and meet the lead singer. The back of the t-shirt has a screenprint of a page from Kurt's school notebook and the lead singer wrote "I used to sleep on this in High School!" and signed it!! The kid is THRILLED. (who wouldn't be!)
I guess I shouln't be surprised since he comes from a mother whose first concert (with her BEST friend)was KISS!!!(in 1976 when they were HOT!!!)

Along Came (another) Spider
Mood:
special
Now Playing: Only You-(I'm not sure of the artist)
Topic: Crazy 8s
Well kids, I haven't seen Lucky Seven in a while (couple of days?). However there is no shortage of creatures to occupy the coveted shower corner and today I noticed a different daddy longlegs where Lucky once lived. (For those of you who are new to this game-see "Spider Magic" post from Jan. 29)
When I mentioned this fact to my faithful few, it was suggested that perhaps spiders were able to regenerate legs and that it may still be Lucky 7(+1!)after all. The topic turned to the possibility that I had healed Lucky. Well, I do practice Reiki healing and I believe in miracles, however I hope that I would be wise enough to realize that only having 7 legs was what made Lucky special and distinguished it from the more common 8 legged variety. It made him unique in the world of bathroom spiders.
MAY THE UNIQUE INHERIT THE EARTH!!!

Something's Fishy
Mood:
mischievious
Now Playing: Octopus' Garden-The Beatles
Topic: Pisces
Yesterday ushered in the sign of Pisces. In the tarot deck the card that represents Pisces is "the Moon". The actual moon, yesterday was in Cancer-which is ruled by-you guessed it-The MOON!!! Are you sensing a pattern here?
Pisces is one of the dreamiest of all signs. The symbol is two fishes tethered together, but swimming in opposite directions. Pisceans are easily influenced and "go with the flow". Oddly enough, the body part associated with Pisces is the FEET!! Which of course fish don't have! (Who makes this stuff up?) It's about evolution (you've seen the "darwin fish" on bumpers around town, haven't you?) When Pisces has a dream and finally puts their foot down to make it happen it happens!!
When is the last time you paid attention to your dreams? A fun excersize is every morning when you wake up, lie in bed for 5 or so minutes (you know you already do that anyway!) and try to recall ANY dream image or feeling you can. Even if it's just a feeling, make a note of it.
Day 1: Blue
Day 2: Red car
Day 3: Green bedroom with open curtain...
By the end of one week you will be remembering more than you thought possible, and you might just learn something! (or get a good laugh trying...dreams are strange!) But don't just take MY word for it...

Saturday Morning Cartoons
Mood:
happy
Now Playing: Fixing a Hole-the Beatles
Topic: Martian Chronicles
I got to sleep in for the first time in weeks. The best part for me is the morning dreams. My old room-mate used to call them Saturday Morning Cartoons (for obvious reasons).
This morning I was having a dream where my oldest son and I were at our house, but we had a bigger yard. My Honey was planting Cannas and other various flowers. This woman came up and was trying to bury something in the holes and I yelled at her. She stopped and offered me this handmade dark chocolate. Then I was out fixing the holes (where the rain gets in-and stops my mind from wandering???...WHERE IT WILL GOOOOOOOOOOO>>>!!)and this thing came flying over really low. At first it looked like a Pod Racer from Star Wars and there was another "ship" next to it. It hovered over me and then started to chase me. I had to roll away from it and scramble into the house!!!
I did escape, however I know they got me on camera!! Somewhere In the cosmos I'm some sort of surreality TV show SUPERSTAR!

Now Playing: New Kid in Town-The Eagles
Topic: GM a go-go
OK-so last nite I was a little long winded. I could think about the brain for...and talk about it even longer! I'm blaming it on the moon in Gemini which is all about communication!!!
Tonite at EL Taquiera de Tequila we got our first full dose of our new general manager. It's been a few months since we first heard of his arrival and now it has become reality. My initial impression? DAMN he's tall!!!
