When you think that you are "ALL THAT" a good thing to do is to stick your hand in a bucket of water, swirl it around till it's spinning pretty good, take your hand out, and see how long it takes for the hole in the middle to disappear again. That's about as long as your prescence is missed. Perhaps that would have been a good exercise for the National Hockey League players and owners last fall when they began thier ridiculous pouting match which ended today in the cancellation of this year's hockey season. This is a prime example of the "haves" and the "have mores" wanting it all. Look what they got-NOTHING!!! Most of the country didn't even realize hockey was missing, the die hard fans still have European hockey (and Canada!), the rest of the people "recommend Trident for their patients who chew gum." Good luck resurrecting the already gasping for breath public interest. Maybe some of the owners of the teams that aren't doing so hot anyway will use this opportunity to bow out gracefully. Do we really need 30 teams? Maybe we could go back to the original six and have room for only the players that REALLY are worth it and go from there. Whatever happens, let this be a learning experience for all of us. LIFE GOES ON!!!

Baboo is talking about a puppy. Son #2 has been talking about a puppy for some time-even going as far as writing a persuasive speech about it a month or so ago. I had a persuasive reply-"KEEP the FOOD out YO ROOM!!!" I nevertheless feel a puppy in my not so distant future. (What am I thinking?) So yesterday I was having these dreams about the city. I was in a second floor apartment and I was looking out the window at a courtyard. There were people who were trying to get me to help them with their cause (something about keeping green space in the city). I felt myself being pulled toward the window and I saw this big hand coming through a tree and reaching out to me. At first I was a little fearful but then I realized that it was a "helping hand". I found myself saying that I could not take on any more projects and asking the people around me if they would take part of the responsibility. This is a good sign for me since I have always been terrible about asking for help. I am either too strong willed or too unwilling to "inconvenience" others. I had a roommate who helped change my outlook on this. She said "If your neighbor needed to borrow some sugar and you had it, wouldn't you give it to her?" Of course!! She asked me how I would feel about helping her out. I said that it would feel good. She asked "what makes you feel like it would not feel good for someone to help you?" Yeah! Why NOT! She said "You are denying others the pleasure of being of assistance." GOOD POINT! BE GRATEFUL!!

Happy Valentine's Day to my adoring fans (and to those of you who are only humoring me as well) Today our long strange trip takes us through the Tunnel of Love. Yes folks-today is National Condom Awareness Day. I would like you all to be aware that there are condoms. Now that I've got the public service announcement out of the way, let's get to the nitty gritty. According to the newspaper trivia wizards, Valentine's Day began as "Lupercalia." This was a four day Roman festival of love, sex, and fertlity that took place in the middle of February. WOW! Leave it to the Christians to "church lady" it up and make a Hallmark holiday out of it. Just as the seven days of "Saturnalia" became Christmas. This morning I was having a rougher time getting out of bed than usual. I was having these dreams about this city. I had a dream about reaching out the window to a "helping hand", and a dream about me living above a corner inner city grocery store.(stay tuned for the story of my icgs experience-tomorrow?) Anyway, I peeled myself out of bed (kinda like trying to get silly putty out of shag carpet) and said to my "sweet baboo"-"I was having these intense dreams about being in the city." Then I went into what I am going to start calling the bathroom vortex, and -GUESS WHAT!!! I turned on the radio (I can't stand to shower without it) and the song "Dream On" by Aerosmith was ending. The very next song they played was "In the City" by the Eagles!!! I wasn't sure if I was yet awake, or if I was still Dreamin On. I guess when your life is a fabulous as mine is, you get to Dream your Reality!!! (but "when life looks like easy street, there is danger at your door!")

I must apologize to my devoted fans. I got extremely busy, running around all day yesterday and by the time I realized it, IT WAS TODAY!!! It was my friend Heather's birthday among many other things. I am pretty wiped out after a fantastic dinner with my sweetie at the Ring of Fire here in town after an action packed weeekend. I can tell you, I truly know how to have FUN!!! This Valentine's Day we will be experiencing the effects of Venus and Mercury working together to allow a harmonious communication and outpouring of LOVE. Venus is the planet of Love and Beauty, and Mercury the planet of travel and communication. The two combine to make this a night for Lovers. Everyone, whether single or in a relationship should be thinking of ways to express thier LOVE of whatever it is they do.

I just got back from chaperoning my son's middle school Valentine's Dance and activity night. Never a dull moment I tell ya! When I logged on tonite I saw that a top news story was about getting fired for talking trash about work in your BLOG. There's even a name for it-getting "dooced" after an apparently notable incident. There is little protection for bloggers because the rules really haven't been established for this relatively new forum. I don't feel threatened about sharing my Flaming Fajita experiences with the masses (all 3 of you), simply because I am closer to the end of the rope with the Pope after this last week of rambling. I I might have to learn the rest of the rosary to see my way back into the good graces. The part I always liked about the Catholic religion, however, is the fact that you can really blow it, ask for forgiveness, kneel on some dried peas and say your Hail Mary's, and all will be forgiven. I wonder if it's a sign that my brand new "Shift Coordinator" nametag has my last name spelled C-R-I-S-T-A-N-T-I (almost Anti-Christ backwards!) The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Today the moon is in Pisces, the sign of the fishes. The moon moves from sign to sign about every two days or so. The sign that your moon is in at the time of your birth is a factor in how you express emotion. The moon card is the card in the tarot deck that symbolizes Pisces. It is at home here. It relates to cycles, the tides and things that relate to months, seasons, years...The moon in Pisces accentuates the dreams. On another note-the Pope got out of the hospital and is feeling better after experiencing some breathing trouble that kept him from the traditional Ash Wednesday ceremonies. It's the year of the Wood Rooster. This is the birthsign of my father! The Chinese calender is broken into 12 years x 5 elements. It takes 60 years to complete a cycle and it is a significant milestone when it is completed. It marks an entire generation. This is the year that my father will complete this cycle. The wood rooster is open minded, fair and social. They enjoy contributing to their social conditions. They seek an atmosphere that is harmonious and congenial. They tend towards being the life of the party and enjoy making sure that everyone is having a good time. The flip side is that they can cut to the quick when aroused. They will always work hard to protect their securities. It is important for them to walk their talk. It is also Ash Wednesday. Apparently the Pope is feeling a bit ashen himself and "will not be officiating at the Ash Weds. ceremonies for the first time in his Papacy." He's been around for quite a while at this point. It must be kind of unreal to be a Pope in this day and age. These are the people deemed by their peers to be the holiest of holy. It's almost hard to believe that their cloistered existence can be alive and well. (WELL...) Somuchtothinkabout!!!

As I am starting this, it is still Fat Tuesday, as well as the Eve of the Chinese New Year 2005-Year of the Rooster! (By the time I finish it looks like it will post the next day.) The new moon is in Aquarius which hilights sensitivity and perception. Aquarius is a sign of individuality and the Aquarian moon can bring out passions of the mind. Dreams while the moon is in Aquarius involve the teaching of right actions for day to day living. The instruction recieved during this period can be psychically draining and the physical body can be affected the next day. If one is taking the necessary steps already, the instruction will involve plans for the future. As for Fat Tuesday, my earliest memories of church are that of a Catholic. I was baptized and had catechism as well as First Holy Communion (it's WAFER thin!) My Grandmother on my dad's side was very involved with the church. The joke in the family is that when she went to visit the Vatican, the Pope got down on one knee and kissed her ring. "Forgive me, Kitty for I have sinned." (OMG-Blasphemy!!!) My Grandmother's funeral was the same day as Mother Theresa's. The most beautiful thing about my Grandma Kitty, besides the fact that she had hair down to her behind, and could float in the lake on her back for what seemed like hours at a time, was her love of Monty Python. She took me to see The Holy Grail when it came out. I must have been in about 5th grade. It's one of the few times that I ever did anything alone with her. It was kinda hard since she had 10 kids and I lost count of the Grandkids (I'm STILL #1! and I have the #1 Greatgrandkid too!) It is one of the best families anyone could ask for because everyone is accepted as is. (and with that many people-we've got just about every IS there IS!!!) I'm not sure what I would give up for Lent if I was going to do so. I could lose the coffee. I could lose the attitude. I could give away all of my secrets. I'll get back to you on this.

I'm working on a business plan for the mandalas. The microbusiness classes are really making me think about what it takes to sell the product. There is a couple in my microbusiness group who have a tool that I can't believe has not been created long before. It seems indispensable in their business and it seems to me that once it catches on, they will be sitting pretty. I have a card. I have a set of cards. Doesn't everyone? UGH!@!! These are the thoughts that are so self defeating. They are the poison that keeps me thinking that maybe I am not worthy. I have had far too much life experience that is to the contrary. I guess that I refuse to believe that in some way I am not special. Oh just wait. I have so much to say, so many stories tell. I just don't know where to start Only because there are so many BEGINNINGS!!! stay tuned... for the ravings of a loon!

Poor Boris is no more-us, Lucky Seven reigns supreme. When it comes to shower spiders, Lucky is the Queen!!! I'm not really sure what Boris's fate actually was. Did Lucky chase him off, chew him out, spit him up? Whatever, he's not inhabiting that corner of the world anymore. It must be Lucky Seven's day. Well, it IS the 7th of Feb. When I took Dylan to Wendy's for baked potatoes and frostys after hockey, our bill totalled $7.77. I don't feel the need to run out and buy a lottery ticket or anything (lottery is a tax on people who can't do math!) but I always love patterns when I recognize them-even the most trivial randomness gives me an excuse to have a laugh. Feel free to join me!
