My youngest son, who just turned 14 (schforteen-teen)on the 4th of this month, went to see Papa Roach tonite at the MacDonald Theatre downtown. This kid has got some sort of good concert karma. I swear, every time he goes there to see someone he ends up meeting the band, getting autographs, crowd surfing (he's the perfect size for it!), the whole enchilada. (no, did I just say that?) Tonight he went with his friend Brave Bear (really his name). (The same kid that he spent a large amount of his three day weekend working on a science fair project with. The project-coincidently (?) was to follow written instructions and draw-you guessed it-A ROACH.) Anyway-during the opening act, he went out to the lobby and a guy complimented his t shirt (Kurt Cobain /Nirvana) They start talking-the guy is the drummer's brother-the kid gets to go out to the bus and meet the lead singer. The back of the t-shirt has a screenprint of a page from Kurt's school notebook and the lead singer wrote "I used to sleep on this in High School!" and signed it!! The kid is THRILLED. (who wouldn't be!) I guess I shouln't be surprised since he comes from a mother whose first concert (with her BEST friend)was KISS!!!(in 1976 when they were HOT!!!)

Well kids, I haven't seen Lucky Seven in a while (couple of days?). However there is no shortage of creatures to occupy the coveted shower corner and today I noticed a different daddy longlegs where Lucky once lived. (For those of you who are new to this game-see "Spider Magic" post from Jan. 29) When I mentioned this fact to my faithful few, it was suggested that perhaps spiders were able to regenerate legs and that it may still be Lucky 7(+1!)after all. The topic turned to the possibility that I had healed Lucky. Well, I do practice Reiki healing and I believe in miracles, however I hope that I would be wise enough to realize that only having 7 legs was what made Lucky special and distinguished it from the more common 8 legged variety. It made him unique in the world of bathroom spiders. MAY THE UNIQUE INHERIT THE EARTH!!!

Yesterday ushered in the sign of Pisces. In the tarot deck the card that represents Pisces is "the Moon". The actual moon, yesterday was in Cancer-which is ruled by-you guessed it-The MOON!!! Are you sensing a pattern here? Pisces is one of the dreamiest of all signs. The symbol is two fishes tethered together, but swimming in opposite directions. Pisceans are easily influenced and "go with the flow". Oddly enough, the body part associated with Pisces is the FEET!! Which of course fish don't have! (Who makes this stuff up?) It's about evolution (you've seen the "darwin fish" on bumpers around town, haven't you?) When Pisces has a dream and finally puts their foot down to make it happen it happens!! When is the last time you paid attention to your dreams? A fun excersize is every morning when you wake up, lie in bed for 5 or so minutes (you know you already do that anyway!) and try to recall ANY dream image or feeling you can. Even if it's just a feeling, make a note of it. Day 1: Blue Day 2: Red car Day 3: Green bedroom with open curtain... By the end of one week you will be remembering more than you thought possible, and you might just learn something! (or get a good laugh trying...dreams are strange!) But don't just take MY word for it...

I got to sleep in for the first time in weeks. The best part for me is the morning dreams. My old room-mate used to call them Saturday Morning Cartoons (for obvious reasons). This morning I was having a dream where my oldest son and I were at our house, but we had a bigger yard. My Honey was planting Cannas and other various flowers. This woman came up and was trying to bury something in the holes and I yelled at her. She stopped and offered me this handmade dark chocolate. Then I was out fixing the holes (where the rain gets in-and stops my mind from wandering???...WHERE IT WILL GOOOOOOOOOOO>>>!!)and this thing came flying over really low. At first it looked like a Pod Racer from Star Wars and there was another "ship" next to it. It hovered over me and then started to chase me. I had to roll away from it and scramble into the house!!! I did escape, however I know they got me on camera!! Somewhere In the cosmos I'm some sort of surreality TV show SUPERSTAR!

OK-so last nite I was a little long winded. I could think about the brain for...and talk about it even longer! I'm blaming it on the moon in Gemini which is all about communication!!! Tonite at EL Taquiera de Tequila we got our first full dose of our new general manager. It's been a few months since we first heard of his arrival and now it has become reality. My initial impression? DAMN he's tall!!!

Welcome back sports fans!!! After that tirade last night you might get the impression that I really couldn't care less about hockey. I just want to make it clear that it is the ONE sport that I truly DO care about and that is why I feel the need to throw down my gloves. Where are the Hansen Brothers when you need them most! Anyway-on to tonights topic! Mind Games. HMMM. Today while I was hard at work at the Mystic Margarita, I had the opportunity to peruse the latest issue of National Geographic magazine. (they had an article on Peruvian ruins and I felt that it was pertinent to our business to stay informed-I swear!) Anyway-there were these great articles on brain research, one of which was about a woman who has "hypergraphia", which is the need to write-A LOT!! In the article they mention that it is often associated with Manic Depression (the manic end)-a malady that BOTH of my parents are treated for. They said that it can also be indicative of "temporal lobe epilepsy" which is " a disorder that may also lead to hyper-religoius feelings, and a sense that even the most trivial events are filled with heightened meaning and cosmic importance." I have to say that this hit really close to home! Anyone who knows me, (or has been reading this so far) knows that I have these stories of coincidences that NEVER END!!! At the place I used to work, people around me started calling them "Crisanti Moments" because it didn't just happen to me , it happened around me as well. It is how I got into the Mandala business!! I DO feel that the trivial events are the most important events. The big things happen mostly because we have not been paying attention to the "little" ones. It is both amusing and wonderful to feel that somehow it is proof that we are part of a bigger picture. I'm sure that one of the things that lies in wait inside of me is a book about what it is like to see the two people who brought you into this world, at various times over the years, completely enter a world where "reality" is a whole new dimension. (and I was the voice of reason!-freaky huh!) One of the drugs that my mother is on (after almost 30 years of "cycling") is for epilepsy-it seems to control the mood swings. My father has been treated with Lithium for 25+ years. I have seen more than my share of mental illness, self medication, and a lack of understanding from most of the legal and medical professions. My sisters and I seem to have escaped the ravages of chemical imbalance (not to say it's all been smooth sailing!) One of the most powerful things that I have learned is that each of us has been given the gift of the mind. Each of us is allowed to use it in whichever way we see fit. Not everyone needs to agree with us to prove that we are right. We just need to know that it is right for us, that we should keep in mind those that are affected by our decisions, and to have compassion for those who are learning differently than we are.

When you think that you are "ALL THAT" a good thing to do is to stick your hand in a bucket of water, swirl it around till it's spinning pretty good, take your hand out, and see how long it takes for the hole in the middle to disappear again. That's about as long as your prescence is missed. Perhaps that would have been a good exercise for the National Hockey League players and owners last fall when they began thier ridiculous pouting match which ended today in the cancellation of this year's hockey season. This is a prime example of the "haves" and the "have mores" wanting it all. Look what they got-NOTHING!!! Most of the country didn't even realize hockey was missing, the die hard fans still have European hockey (and Canada!), the rest of the people "recommend Trident for their patients who chew gum." Good luck resurrecting the already gasping for breath public interest. Maybe some of the owners of the teams that aren't doing so hot anyway will use this opportunity to bow out gracefully. Do we really need 30 teams? Maybe we could go back to the original six and have room for only the players that REALLY are worth it and go from there. Whatever happens, let this be a learning experience for all of us. LIFE GOES ON!!!

Baboo is talking about a puppy. Son #2 has been talking about a puppy for some time-even going as far as writing a persuasive speech about it a month or so ago. I had a persuasive reply-"KEEP the FOOD out YO ROOM!!!" I nevertheless feel a puppy in my not so distant future. (What am I thinking?) So yesterday I was having these dreams about the city. I was in a second floor apartment and I was looking out the window at a courtyard. There were people who were trying to get me to help them with their cause (something about keeping green space in the city). I felt myself being pulled toward the window and I saw this big hand coming through a tree and reaching out to me. At first I was a little fearful but then I realized that it was a "helping hand". I found myself saying that I could not take on any more projects and asking the people around me if they would take part of the responsibility. This is a good sign for me since I have always been terrible about asking for help. I am either too strong willed or too unwilling to "inconvenience" others. I had a roommate who helped change my outlook on this. She said "If your neighbor needed to borrow some sugar and you had it, wouldn't you give it to her?" Of course!! She asked me how I would feel about helping her out. I said that it would feel good. She asked "what makes you feel like it would not feel good for someone to help you?" Yeah! Why NOT! She said "You are denying others the pleasure of being of assistance." GOOD POINT! BE GRATEFUL!!

Happy Valentine's Day to my adoring fans (and to those of you who are only humoring me as well) Today our long strange trip takes us through the Tunnel of Love. Yes folks-today is National Condom Awareness Day. I would like you all to be aware that there are condoms. Now that I've got the public service announcement out of the way, let's get to the nitty gritty. According to the newspaper trivia wizards, Valentine's Day began as "Lupercalia." This was a four day Roman festival of love, sex, and fertlity that took place in the middle of February. WOW! Leave it to the Christians to "church lady" it up and make a Hallmark holiday out of it. Just as the seven days of "Saturnalia" became Christmas. This morning I was having a rougher time getting out of bed than usual. I was having these dreams about this city. I had a dream about reaching out the window to a "helping hand", and a dream about me living above a corner inner city grocery store.(stay tuned for the story of my icgs experience-tomorrow?) Anyway, I peeled myself out of bed (kinda like trying to get silly putty out of shag carpet) and said to my "sweet baboo"-"I was having these intense dreams about being in the city." Then I went into what I am going to start calling the bathroom vortex, and -GUESS WHAT!!! I turned on the radio (I can't stand to shower without it) and the song "Dream On" by Aerosmith was ending. The very next song they played was "In the City" by the Eagles!!! I wasn't sure if I was yet awake, or if I was still Dreamin On. I guess when your life is a fabulous as mine is, you get to Dream your Reality!!! (but "when life looks like easy street, there is danger at your door!")

I must apologize to my devoted fans. I got extremely busy, running around all day yesterday and by the time I realized it, IT WAS TODAY!!! It was my friend Heather's birthday among many other things. I am pretty wiped out after a fantastic dinner with my sweetie at the Ring of Fire here in town after an action packed weeekend. I can tell you, I truly know how to have FUN!!! This Valentine's Day we will be experiencing the effects of Venus and Mercury working together to allow a harmonious communication and outpouring of LOVE. Venus is the planet of Love and Beauty, and Mercury the planet of travel and communication. The two combine to make this a night for Lovers. Everyone, whether single or in a relationship should be thinking of ways to express thier LOVE of whatever it is they do.
